Columbia MDE 2022

I know the application hasn't opened yet, but wondering if there was anyone else thinking of applying to Columbia MDE/DNP programs for June 2022 entry?

Is anyone still completing pre-reqs?

When is the dead lines for those schools?  Yes I only applied to Columbia. I’m currently a hygienist and did my undergrad at NYU. Columbia is my school of choice. I was not interested in other programs due to the fact that most want you to gain experience working as an RN before advancing into a NP/DNP degree. For me… I have no interest in other areas of nursing. I’m fully invested in derm and aesthetics which is all learned after licensure anyway so this is my ideal program and a great school to acquire the appropriate credentials. ?

Yep, finishing two this semester and I have one left next semester

SUNY downstate is due Jan 31st, and Hunter Feb 1st. So you applied MDE/DNP? What specialty?

For now the FNP because it the most flexible (IMO).

I wonder if we will find out late in the game for acceptance emails due to the Columbia strikes for workers etc ….  Last year they were way ahead of schedule. Most years people don’t hear till late January from what I’ve noticed.

Oh man, I didn't connect the dots there till you said that. Totally possible. Last I heard they said February, maybe earlier. I posted in the MDE 2021 group earlier asking when people got emails requesting fall grades, I was wondering if that had any correlation with first wave acceptances.

All I know is that once it hits January 1st I will be sleeping with one eye open?

I’m hoping for first week…. Haha. Would be nice to know if I’m going or not!  We all might be in remote learning again soon too if this variant keeps up ?

True. I mean I don't mind the option of having some classes be remote but I know that everyone's learning style is different. The only thing that really needs to be in person is clinicals or labs, so I guess we will just have to wait and see haha.
