Columbia MDE 2022

Published

I know the application hasn't opened yet, but wondering if there was anyone else thinking of applying to Columbia MDE/DNP programs for June 2022 entry?

Did anyone else here apply to NYU for January Term? I am in quite the bind..

I kept all my applications to being the Summer/Fall term for that exact reason to be honest LOL. I figured that most schools release their Fall 2022 decisions prior to the NYU and PACE ABSN deadline for the fall, so I am waiting to hear back from them to decide on whether or not I should apply to NYU and PACE for the fall. I am assuming you got into NYU for Spring 2022?!

Hi everyone! I also applied for Columbia MDE 2022 this cycle. I was wondering if you guys would be down to share stats! Fingers crossed, it's going to be a long wait.

It has definitely already been a long wait!? The only thing distracting me is working on applications for other programs haha. I don't mind sharing my stats! I have my B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Diversity and Inequality and a minor in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine. My cumulative GPA is not the strongest due to some hardships I faced during my undergraduate experience, which I discussed in my personal statement/addendum of course. So my cumulative GPA is a 3.15 and my prerequisite GPA is around a 3.9.

Anatomy - A

Physio - A

Microbio - A

Stats - A

Lifespan Psych - A

Nutrition - B

I have over 3,000 hours of healthcare experience as I work full time as a medical scribe in Cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA for the past year and a half (also worked as a medical scribe in the emergency department for 7 months prior to gaining employment at Cedars-Sinai).

I honestly hope my strong prerequisite performance and healthcare experience are enough to overlook my cumulative GPA because that is mainly what I am concerned about since it is so incredibly competitive.?

I believe students for the 2021 Admissions received their acceptance emails on January 6th. So hopefully we get some news around then as well. Waiting till Feb is rough!!

Hey y'all! Does anyone know if they will be releasing decisions in rounds this year like last year?

I know two students in the MDE program and they both received their acceptance emails jan 6th. I’m hoping they send them out earlier again….

I know, right? It could potentially save me from taking the TEAS and the PAX-RN, I would loooooove to skip those

What are those?

They are nursing school entrance exams. TEAS is for SUNY downstate and the PAX-RN is for Hunter (I'm only applying to NYC schools).

Does anyone know how many seats there are for the PMHNP specialty?

Oh wow. I had no idea haha. I am only interested in the Columbia MDE\DNP program. Non nurse here. Looking to go into derm/aesthetics at the end of the line.

I think its like 20-30 but not sure, just going off what people said in last year's thread

Oh wow so you're only applying to one school? I really don't want to apply to SUNY downstate and Hunter because it's so much extra work and they're hard to get into, but I can't take that gamble. What about NYU?
