Columbia MDE 2022

I know the application hasn't opened yet, but wondering if there was anyone else thinking of applying to Columbia MDE/DNP programs for June 2022 entry?

Do we think today is the day?? Or do we think we are looking at Feb decisions

My gut is telling me this Thursday or Friday this week. Today would be amazing… but who knows. I believe the emails get sent out around 1pm EST from past thread discussions.

I had a strong feeling it would be yesterday but then it wasn’t so IDK ?

OMG that’s definately a complex one ?. I had “what is your favorite holiday and why.” The fact that we only had 10 minutes caused so much anxiety. I barely got a paragraph done.

I got the one JPMANT got I literally rebuilt the structure of the community , and changed the  tax system to benefit the underprivileged  while growing the wealth of the upper class. All Ik is that I didn’t answer the question correctly at all ?

I don’t think there is a “correct” answer. In a nutshell :   I discussed the first step would be to get involved, go to the local library and investigate what groups are currently active with pursuing postive changes. Volunteer, give back, get to know your neighbors and understand their struggles and see what the community overall will benefit from, form groups and committees to help facilitate change…  etc. ??

There definitely is no right answer! I am sure they just use this section to see what stands out to you in a 2 minute thinking period and how you can put those thoughts into a well structured paragraph.

I also had the same prompt and the first thing that came to my mind living in Los Angeles is the issue of homelessness here. I basically discussed how it is our job as a community to help these individuals seek either rehabilitation or provide them with resources (shelters, food, mental health counseling, etc) in order to get back on their feet and find a purpose again. I really emphasized mental health as a major component to this plan and that we need to start treating these individuals like humans and not animals that we just try to shove out of the way and to areas that are less bothersome - that solves literally nothing.

I had the holiday one too! It was so out of left field haha. I struggled to fill up a paragraph.

We have to get decision before Feb, right? On campus Grad housing applications are due feb 1! Or I wonder if they’ll make an exception for us?
