Hi,
I plan on applying for the anesthesia program at Columbia and I wanted to know how the background of those that have been accepted look like to see if I'm even competitive enough apply.
Thanks!
I was speaking to someone in admissions for us who applied Regular Decision and they are STILL sifting through applicant materials matching up GRE Scores, transcripts, and sending out notices to fix your profile if it didn't match their records. I had to update a few things for everything to reflect my school records (no biggie) but hopefully they begin to actually review soon.
I applied last yr too and was waitlisted. While I was not told an exact formula for getting in, I was told that the fact that I had completed my bs since that time, I now am an IBCLC, and I could try retaking the gre's. But again, I was given the whole thing that the while picture is what they look at. Sigh. One more week and I'll either be as depressed as I was last feb, or I'll be on cloud nine. For anyone who applied last yr, was their early admission? I can't reminder it being an option but idk, I was only 3/5 though my backus program at that point....
My luck hadn't been so great this mnth, my dad died last week very unexpectedly so I could really use some good news.

I also applied last year and was placed on the wait-list. They ended up not taking anyone from the wait-list because almost 95 % of students accepted their offer, so I decided to wait another year and apply again. When I spoke with admissions they said to make sure you highlight what you have done to better yourself and application for the past year. They also said by applying again and having bettered yourself shows them your determination and desire to attend CUSON. So, all-in-all, I agree with chula5008, it may give your application some brownie points. Anywho, good luck and hopefully everything works out!!!
