Hi,
I plan on applying for the anesthesia program at Columbia and I wanted to know how the background of those that have been accepted look like to see if I'm even competitive enough apply.
Thanks!
Hi everyone,Does anyone know if they'll roll over our application into the Regular Decision pool if we don't get accepted ED? Thanks. A little - no, a significant amount - of panic is settling in!
I know, I'm feeling pretty panicky too. I don't think it's too likely they'll roll over our applications - that would be too kind, right? :)
Well, it's really unfortunate that all of our posts after December 14 were lost when AN upgraded the site.
FYI for future applicants reading this thread, we got our ED notifications on December 20 in the early afternoon. You get an email telling you to log in to the website, where there is a link that you click on to see your decision. There was no pre-decision email telling us what the notification date would be. The date by which you have to send them a check (for $500) to secure your place is January 9, and the admitted students' Visiting Day will be on March 2.
By the way - has anyone received login information for the Accepted Applicants part of the CUSON website (located under the Admissions tab)?
Hi all, I was wondering if anoyone else is working on the FAFSA/SAR forms and where you find the SAR, I read that after you submit FAFSA it takes several weeks before you recieve the SAR, but Columbia said in their letter that they wanted everything sent in by the 4th, how will this be possible? Any insight is much appreciated, thanks!
I also have concerns about the FAFSA. I'm concerned since they want us to fill it out as undergrads, but I will also be applying to programs where I will be considered a grad student for the duration of the program (UCSF, Boston College, etc.) I can only fill out one FAFSA, right? And then I can add other programs to it later along, but I can't change it, right? I'm worried that if I designate myself an undergrad that it will negatively impact my ability to obtain financial aid should I end up attending a program where I"ll be a grad student the entire time.
Did anyone else notice that the deadline was dated January 4th, 2011? I assume they mean 2012, of course. Hmm. I am so unsure of what to do or how to move forward.
Myelin - I have the same concerns. It is recommended that you only fill out one FASFA per year, so since we are applying to multiple programs with BSN/MSN it will be difficult. Columbia wants us to apply as 5th year undergrad students to get the most aide. I'm in the same boat as you since Columbia wants the SAR by Jan. 4th and other programs won't get back to me by March. Columbia is a great school, but my decision is not finalize and will still depend on my acceptance to other programs. I sent an email to the FASFA people, so hopefully they can be of some help. I'll keep you updated.
