Columbia ETP Program 2012 entry

I plan on applying for the anesthesia program at Columbia and I wanted to know how the background of those that have been accepted look like to see if I'm even competitive enough apply.

Last yr they sent an email that said that the admissions committee had made their decision and to ck the website that you applied on. When you go on the APPLY NOW website there's a message box, you get their decision there... you got an email telling you to ck last yr, and I'd imagine you would again this year.....

This is the week we're likely to hear if we applied ED, right? I'm so nervous!

I hope so! They did say by December 15...but this is the first year with ED, so who really knows what will happen.

Hi all,

I remember Columbia saying ED applicants would hear back in early to mid Dec. in an info session but I was reviewing their twitter feed in which they say mid to late Dec. Just wondering if anyone has asked the admissions department recently and if so what they said.

I'm dying to know/certainly hopeful it will be the 15th but a friend who is in her 2nd yr of the program suggested I not get my hopes up for the 15th as she said that although the administration is great it is not in her opinion very speedy (she said to think along the lines of before Christmas).

At the information sesson I went to they said December 15th was their ultimate goal, however, December 23rd would be the latest date for ED applicant notification. So anytime between the 15th and the 23rd. I spoke to admissions a few days ago with a Q and also asked about the decision on behalf of all our anxiety levels (ha!) and they refused to give a date. They simply said "mid-december." Sigh.

Hi All,

I applied ED as well, I called today and they also gave me the vague "Mid-December" no specific date. I really hope it's not the 23rd, that's too close to Christmas time! Good luck everyone

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if they'll roll over our application into the Regular Decision pool if we don't get accepted ED? Thanks. A little - no, a significant amount - of panic is settling in!
