Columbia CRNA 2021

Published

Hello,

Has anyone applied to Columbia's MS in Nurse Anesthesia program (2021) ?

Hi! Has anyone heard back? I got an email notification just informing me that the invitation to interview phase has begun but no actual invitation.

Same email, no actual invitation( My best guess - they are trying to win more time!

I think the program director is on this thread disguising herself as one of the students.  I think she saw us all discussing that we have not heard and she does not want to point out her Schools deficiencies or their disorganization. My roommate pointed that out to me.

I’m struggling to understand how thoroughly examining each application and applicant to choose the best fit for the school falls under “deficiencies” or “disorganization”. This is the normal process of waiting as the committee does their due diligence in choosing qualified candidates. I’d suggest taking a deep breath and trying to enjoy the process. I’m hopping off this thread as it’s not been terribly constructive. I do wish the very best of luck to everyone!

As a CRNA student who is currently taking one of Dr. Massie's classes, trust me — she does not have the time to pay any attention to these forums. She is the program director, is currently teaching classes, works as a CRNA, and is heavily involved in the AANA. The university has the right to take as long as they need to review applications and send out interview invites. When I was applying, some schools took MONTHS to send out any updates or interview invites, and then another few months to make their official decisions. Thankfully, Columbia wasn't one of those schools. As an applicant, of course waiting sucks. But it's part of the process. Be patient.

Like someone on this thread has already told you once, if you really want to get into Columbia, speaking negatively about the program director is not the way to go. It might be a good idea to change your attitude, this type of negativity has no place at Columbia.
