Columbia CRNA 2021

Hello,

Has anyone applied to Columbia's MS in Nurse Anesthesia program (2021) ?

Specializes in Cardiac ICU.

The program director did an open house last week and I signed on. Apparently the applications are going to open up either in December or January for a September 2021 start. He said the program is not just open to Northwell nurses but to any one who meets the criteria. I heard people saying the program is for free but he would not comment on that when asked.

It’s free only to northwell nurses , they have to agree to work for 3 years , just like their NP Program is free to northwell nurses as long as they work for 3 years for northwell . Trust me mostly northwell nurses will be in that inaugural class . Just like their NP Program . It’s similar to UPENN the applications are open to everyone but of course their own hospital nurses will be given some type of preference when applying especially if they meet all the criteria .

What are your sources? Also this is a columbia thread can we please try to keep it about columbia in here?

I work for northwell and have spoken to him as well as a couple of CRNAs who work there .  I guess their accreditation was approved since they are supposedly admitted their first class fall 2021. I thought it would be atleast a few more years.

If there was a way to message privately,  I would? You don't have to get angry, its not that serious.  We are all trying to help each other with information, that all.... Columbia with probably start there invites next week, its already Thursday and they is nothing...

I am still hopeful that we will hear something today or tomorrow. I heard in previous years they were up until 2am going through applications so you never know when they are gonna send them out. I think covid has probably slowed the process a bit but I’m still checking my email every 5 minutes.

Last year invites were sent on 9/30 but that was a Monday. Im going to guess they’ll come around  Friday or next Monday the earliest. ?‍♂️
