  1. I went to the open house last week. The program director said that people have been selected to move to the phase 2 interviews and they would be doing them in March. If I’m not mistaken I believe he said March 11 and 18th with other dates but those two stuck out. One of my coworkers who works with me said she heard from a CRNA who works with the director that Laura Gasparis the CCRN review lady would be sitting on the committee. That is so amazing! FINGERS CROSSED!!
  2. I just had to pay CAS fee. No separate Hofstra fee
  3. People keep talking about the cost of this new program but if you look at other schools, this is the cheapest out of all of them in our area and Hofstra gives you 2 certifications and a doctoral degree. I shadowed a CRNA last week and he told me the cost of Hofstra is worth the investment since CRNAS start at 200k/year. I sent in my application, cross my fingers, and just waiting.
  4. I signed onto the open house on Tuesday. The program director said they will start inviting candidates soon. Feb they will start interviewing. This is exciting.
  5. I attended it virtually yesterday. The program director did address that question. What he said was presently it is rolling admission until he gets his first class of 20. After that the applications will be forwarded for next year. Since this is the first class he kept it rolling admission but will have a firm date for class is moving forward. When I took away from that was get your application in ASAP for consideration for this year. I think he said he’s going to start interviewing at the end of January. Fingers crossed!! It really sounds like an amazing program.
  6. I signed on to an open house last week. The Dorector said he would be interviewing sometime in January through the Winter. Fingers crossed.
  7. Looks like they’re all done interviewing and they’ve made the offers. Dr. Massie called everyone. I got a call and I’m excited but I’m also applying to Hofstra.
  8. I called Emailed the director today from the email address on the website. He said that a lot more information will be populated on the website over the next week. He did tell me that the program was 98 credits. This program sounds really exciting and is apparently the first in the country to offer such a curriculum. I hope I get in.
  9. I called yesterday and was told applications are open. Looks really exciting. My coworker (who is applying as well) said the two guys running the program are former nurse anesthesia directors Columbia University.
  10. Today on facebook on our Black Nurses page it was announced. The girl who posted it said applications will be opened next week. I called today for more information but the guy who will run it wasn’t there. I have his email.
  11. OMG OMG can’t wait to meet my new colleagues. Best of luck! I just scheduled my interview.
  12. I think the program director is on this thread disguising herself as one of the students. I think she saw us all discussing that we have not heard and she does not want to point out her Schools deficiencies or their disorganization. My roommate pointed that out to me.
  13. The program director did an open house last week and I signed on. Apparently the applications are going to open up either in December or January for a September 2021 start. He said the program is not just open to Northwell nurses but to any one who meets the criteria. I heard people saying the program is for free but he would not comment on that when asked.
  14. I just called the Council on accreditation for CRNA programs and they said Columbia cannot admit DNP STUDENTS since they did not receive an application. They said they cannot post on their website and Cannot admit only 10 students. The lady on the phone said she has to admit all doctorate students or none (since it’s the same curriculum) This is not true information. Dr. Maddie was not truthful.Y friend who graduated this year said “sounds about right-that’s her” when I shared this story about Dr Maddie.
