  1. Me too! See you soon hopefully! Best of luck to anyone else waiting for a reply.
  2. I was told that tomorrow would be the day to call to hear about some decisions. Ahhh a bit nervous :/
  3. I applied for the two year trad track too! If you have all the pre-reqs why not finish quicker right? It's only 2 classes a semester I believe.
  4. Aw that's great to hear! I'm still waiting for a response...crossing my fingers. What track did you apply to? Maybe i'll meet you in August (knocks on wood lol)
  5. Hi NorNor7, 1- As for the pre-reqs awesome GPA! They will def love that and it will give you a step above the rest of the applicants. As for your gpa at Rutgers they do ask to see all transcripts from High School and onward, so you would have to supply that... but, I suggest emailing the school or meeting with one of the staff members when you are in the process of applying, explaining the situation and going from there. I believe they really look at the pre-reqs the most, but you could never be too safe because they have said in the past that the application as a whole is taken into consideration. Maybe touching upon it in your essay may be an option?... but that's all up to you. 2- I'm actually am not 100% about this, but I have heard of people taking the NLN more than once before applying. I suggest calling up the school and asking them how much time in between each test does one have before retaking it. (I don't remember if it's every 2 or 6 months?) Hope this helps a bit, Good luck!
  6. good luck to you, and I hope everything works out.
  7. Hi rnjt86, I just wanted to tell you a little story. When I went to visit PBISN last week, one of the faculty members told me a story about an applicant who has been persistent since the day his/her application was complete, and although their app wasn't on the high range his/her persistence got her an interview! So basically, don't lose hope, be persistent and things will work in your favor! Push hard for what you want!
  8. EMTNurseTech, LOL! @ Weird dreams, Don't fret. I too was thinking the worst, but the person that interviewed me was so nice and half of the time was her explaining the program, and what it entails. Some questions she asked were: Suppose you met someone that only had the idea that a nurse was like the ones depicted on Nurse Jackie or ER, how would you explain to them what the role of a nurse is? Your strengths, and weaknesses? Your favorite subject, and least favorite to study? Your greatest challenges in life? If you've volunteered or work in a medical setting, what do you do? If you have an advanced degree (BSN or higher than a H.S. dip, etc) why do you want to make this a career now? They also ask questions regarding your essay, so be sure to reread it. Other than that, go in confident, just be yourself and I'm sure everything will be fine. Good luck! If you have any further questions, ask away! Let us know how it goes :)
  9. 2 years, but ... and i'm just assuming here, you seem like your fairly young and 2 years isn't so long! I say try an ADN program!
  10. I still have not heard back either (acceptance or rejection)... I applied late though.
  11. Hey BTW I read this in one of the posts, hope it helps Dominican College: The requirements for the ABSN program are the following prerequisites: Chemistry 1, Biochemistry, A&P I & II, Microbiology, Pathophysiology, Introductory Sociology, General Psychology, Lifespan Psychology, and Statistics. You'll need to earn a minimum grade of C+ in all prereqs. You also need a bachelor's degree with an undergraduate GPA of at least 2.7. 2.7 isnt too far from your current GPA
  12. Hi jema427 ! I know just what you are going through. I've wanted to be a nurse since I was a kid and my GPA was only a bit higher than yours when I graduated from College. Sometimes... timing isn't right and things might not go as planned... you know? However don't let that get you down. Have you considered just trying to do your best those last 3 semesters to really boost your GPA and than trying to go into an associate program for nursing? They are a bit more flexible. If not, all I can suggest is busting your butt to raise your GPA, ending on a high note, and make sure your pre-reqs GPA is higher than what it is now. It was a good idea you switched your major!!! (Nursing schools really look at pre-reqs grades) Also just a heads up, private schools are a bit more flexible when it comes to GPA so check out NYU or maybe somewhere upstate or on long island, if you're willing to travel? Good luck, and don't lose hope. Just keep going!
  13. Has anyone anyone else heard back from PBISON yet? Ahhh
  14. Did you have your interview yet? If so what did you think of it?
  15. whoops the other school question was for CecixLI lol
