Hello! I know I am super early, but just trying to be proactive. I am planning on applying to the Fall 2021 ADN program at Collin. I currently have a B in A and P 1 and 2 and will be finishing Micro in the Spring semester. Does anyone know someone who has gotten in with B's in the science pre-reqs and a higher TEAS score? I'm taking the TEAS in 2 weeks and if I need to plan to take it again before submitting my final application in May. Any insight would be helpful ?

If you have other days it is because you didn't do your co-reqs... I can imagine having co-req classes would add an unneeded level of stress. There isn't a single person in my cohort that doesn't have them all already complete. The next semesters are only two days a week which is great so you can work and starting building a hospital resume
Oh that's awesome to hear. I was expecting 4 days a week, but I've finished all of my co-reqs and even most of the co-reqs for BSN too. That'll free up some time and some mind space.
hey guys, I was not eligible to apply to the fall 2021 program because I couldn't get the competitive TEAS score but I am planning to apply for Spring 2022. Reading this thread is making me really scared, I don't think I have a chance now since all of you guys stats are so good here. I only have a 3.0 science GPA. The first time I took A&P 1 and A&P 2 I got a C in both classes, so I retook it and managed to get an A on A&P 1 the second time, but unfortunately got a C again on A&P 2 cause my professor hated me, and I have a B on micro. Because I have 2 attempts on A&P I feel like my chance of getting in is super low, but my overall GPA is a 3.4 and I retook the TEAS and got a 92 overall. so at this point I have a total of 16.2 points. I also have a CNA certificate and I worked as a CNA for 2 years, currently I am working at a therapy clinic, IDK if thats going to be any help, please let me know if you guys have any idea about medical experience affecting the decision. I am in a desperate need of help LOL, please if anyone know who got in with similar stats as mine please let me know. I know it's a super long post but I called collin and explained them my situation they straight up told me I should think about if nursing is for me, she suggested me to choose a different route LOL. But I am not gonna give up, at least not yet.
My advice is apply somewhere else. Collin is the most competitive program to get into in the area. You probably have a chance at NCTC. Also there are numerous schools with programs at the Dallas Community Colleges. You have a great TEAS score. That will help you. I am currently in WGU’s program. I decided to not even apply to Collin. If you really want to be a nurse you can do it. You just have to find a program that works with your stats. I really dislike the points only schools. I feel some of us need the opportunity to show who we are without being judged solely on grades. Good Luck!

Also look into their LVN program, if you’re set on Collin. You could then apply for their LVN-RN program if you want your RN. That’s so crappy of them to suggest a different route. You do what YOU want to do.
