Hey everyone I haven't seen a forum for this one yet and decided to create one.

@Nurse J do you work in a hospital setting? I would assume this policy extends to nursing students, but I haven't heard definitively. I thought it was interesting that COVID-19 vaccination status was asked on the nursing application, especially on light of the new policy. That is what prompted my question.
I've already been to the group sessions where they talked about this. Collin said they are unsure yet because it depends on your clincal site. I work at a hospital and we can get fired for not having our N-95 mask fit done. We're considered non compliant that's how strict some of these hospitals are getting. However I did find collins list and here it is you can have an exemption however it has to be approved by the clinical site meaning it's still up to them. I'm assuming if they don't approve it you won't be able to go to clinical that semester meaning you'll stay behind.

After actually reading your post you clearly don't work in a hospital. As student you are not an employee. We are guests. No hospitals don't require guest to show a vaccine card however the hospital does have the right to kick them out if they are causing others to get sick while visiting. Why do you think some guest aren't allowed on certain units.
I do and also home care. Been at both for 10 years...My hospital restrictions are pretty much back to normal and are keeping the n95 mask. With the new law, no place can deny, remove employment if you chose not to get the vaccine. It is preferable but not required. Students are considered employees. Collin's list hasn't updated, I believe.
But everyone should read the laws, regardless of how long it is to know what is going on in our world. Especially as a nurse.

Again your hospital does not have the same rules as everyone else's. So no you can't go by their rules. Did you attend a group session where they talked about this?? I'm done talking about this Covid thing. It's either you get it if it's required or don't and risk being behind in the program. Good luck to everyone applying apps closed on the first ?

I do work at a hospital. I have been in MANY clinical sites, I have 16 years under my belt!!! Also, worked as an assistant clinical instructor. As a student, you are an employee. You work under the hospital and the nurse you are following license..insurance. It's contracted. Especially when you have one on ones towards the end.

I never my hospital rules are the sane as everyone else's. Again, reading is fundamental. I'm talking about STATE laws that rules EVERYTHING. As I stated, I been a nurse 16years but yes, Good luck to you!
When it comes to the COVID vaccine Collin college states on their website that there won't be any exceptions or exemptions. We have to be fully vaccinated to complete clinicals. This is under the LVN program site. I assume it's the same for the ADN as well.
On another note the due date for LVN was extended to 3/8 . Do y'all have any guesses as to why?! The ADN didn't get extended. Could it be lack of applications?

They usually only extend when you don't get enough applications. So if you're going for your LVN then that's really good news
Do anyone know what will get you disqualified? I had a friend that didn't submit her TEAS score on the email link to upload her documents. Does anyone know if they will just email her to upload or just disqualify her. She did submit them through transfer ATI. But just forgot through the email.

Honestly that's a good question I have no idea. I called earlier to see if they received my documents and she said they can't even look at this point because they're gathering everything. So it's a no go with calling them about it.

That's what I figured. I haven't never heard from this site that anyone saying they were ineligible because of it. But I'll keep y'all updated on it for future reference. Thanks
