Hello everyone! I was looking for a thread for Fall 2015 for Collin, and didn't see one, so if there already is one, please share the link. Otherwise, welcome to this thread! I am a pre-nursing student and I am about to take the PSB and put in my application for Fall. Who's with me?
I am super nervous, but so very ready to get going with it.
didi.ricks - I don't believe having a degree already gives an edge in the collin program. It's not taken into account on the point system. I already have a degree too, in counseling. The points you need depends on what points everyone else brings. If a lot of people come in with 32 points, then 27, 28 points may not cut it, etc...
Do you know how many points you are probably coming in with?
Turned in my application today before taking the PSB. I'm not going to lie, that PSB kicked my a$$ haha. I've taken HESI and TEAS V already, and they were a lot easier than the PSB. I think the part that tripped me up was the time. Trying to stay positive, but I don't think I'm going to have enough points for the program. Anyone applying to any other programs?

C.WIN - I took it on Dec 16 and got all 6 points. I thought the last class had people getting in at 27 and up points? I have 30, and I'm nervous. LOL! Good luck to everyone for sure!
My tips for the PSB (AKA - what I did.
)
The first section has three different types of questions all thrown in together. Since Math is my least favorite topic, and takes more time to think through for me, I went through and did all of the nonverbal, and verbal questions first and then used the rest of my time to do the math. What I would change about this section: I would have kept better track of the time because I was caught by surprise when time was called, and didn't have a chance to fill in the rest of the questions quickly. They told us at the orientation for interested students that it's better to just fill in the answers than to leave them blank, FYI.
The only other tip I have for the PSB is to go in knowing that you will not get through the whole reading comp thing. I went ahead and went straight to the questions before reading any paragraphs to look for the key words. If the paragraph seemed like it was taking too much time, I skipped to the next one and looked at the questions. I pulled off 87% in this section, and once again, didn't get a chance to fill in all of the answers. The other sections I don't really have any tip for other than keep track of your time.
FWIW - I got a 97% in the academic aptitude, 87% reading comp, 90% science, 96% vocational adjustment, and 94% spelling. I used the study guide by mometrix, and watched a lot of videos to refresh on the math.
