Hello everyone. I have been searching for a Collin College Nursing applicants for spring 2016 thread for weeks and I have not seen one so I figured I would start one my self: ) I will be turning in my application for the program this week and I wanted to share my story. I made A's in all my sciences. I made an A in English and a B in humanities, general psychology and life span psychology. I made a 6 on the PSB as well. I will be applying with 27 points because of the 3 B's I made in humanities and the psychology classes. Because I will only be applying with 27 points I am apprehensive about getting in. I have worked so hard and come so far for this moment, I will just have to give it to God. I've only taken my sciences once, which is good according to the nursing department as they are really factoring acceptance into the program based on taking your sciences once (they told me studies show those who take their sciences once and get an A the first time tend to do better in the program). However, I hope it's enough. I have children, I work full time and it took everything in me to get A's in my sciences and a 6 on the PSB. On the old point system I would be applying with 16 points (I know I need to get over it). I have been following the allnurses site for about a year and a half and I have had the opportunity to share in many wonderful experiences. Most of you that have posted had 4.0's and I've seen the joy you express when you get that acceptance and I am so happy for you all. I hope there is someone out there that applied and got in with similar applying factors and if so, wouldn't mind posting. I'd love to hear from anyone who will be applying or has applied for the Spring 2016 start and what your stats look like. Please do share. Best wishes to you all.
Hi there Spring 2016 Nursing Students! Has anyone received any correspondence from the Nursing department about anything other than the certified background since orientation? I never received information about registering which seems strange. I want to make sure I didn't miss anything. Less than 2 weeks until school starts, how exciting!
Good morning. On Monday, January 4, I received an email from Catherine Rangel the Nursing Retention Coordinator. She listed the CRN numbers to use to register for the first semester of nursing classes for spring semester. If you have not yet registered you may want to reach out to the Nursing office and ask for those codes.
Hi everyone! congrats to everyone who got accepted and I hope yalls first semester goes by great! I have a quick question: I didnt do so great on the vocational adjustment section last time i took the psb (which Is weird cause I thought I did well), so do any of you have any advice on how to do well on it? It seemed super easy and common sense to me, but it also felt a little opinionated. Is there any way I could study for that or not? Also, any advice on how to gain the 2 points on the reading section? Thanks!
IM taking my first psb on the 4th, and I was told to read the questions first and go back and skim to find the answers since its 40 questions and only 15 mins. also everyone says the math is easy and basic but I guess I'm overthinking it, how was that section for you and what did it consist of?
For me, the math was a bit different. Im pretty decent at math but i dont know, something about the math on the psb was different. I guess it was because it had a lot of lengthy word problems, atleast my version did. Anyways, it was pretty basic but I skipped out on a lot of them because I knew they would take time to solve. But I still scored pretty average on that section
Hello and congrats to everyone in the ADN Program for the spring 2016 semester.
I am trying to get a hold of the list of textbooks needed for the semester as the bundle package is way too expensive for me to buy. I was hoping to maybe buy them from someone here or rent them from stores/websites.
With that being said, does anyone have a list of these textbooks? Classes are coming up right around the corner and although I have contacted the bookstore and the nursing department, neither can get me a list or get back to me regarding the issue.
I would really appreciate all the help!! Thank you!
