Hello future nurses,
Just wanted to start a thread for Fall 2023 College of the Sequoias nursing applicants. Good luck to everyone applying. Fingers crossed for us all ?
Thank you for the info!! I love your sense of humor LOL! Since the office told me the the year round was slightly higher around 70s, that makes the tradition about mid 300s. This year is slightly higher than last year but I'm so happy to hear they completed applications sooner than expected. I'm excited!

Haha thank you! I think I'll be excited if I see that Manila envelope... until then, I'll probably be wandering my house all wild-eyed, looking for furniture to re-do or something ?
UPDATE PART 2 SINCE I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF AND MY ANXIETY HAS COMPLETELY TAKEN THE WHEEL:
I called again ?. Here's what I learned from this most recent call/begging/attempted bribery session-
1. When I begged to at least find out if the accepted points spread was similar to last year's, she said she couldn't say exactly but that this year's is "slightly different than before." It took a whole lot for me to refrain from screaming like a psycho, "BUT WHAT DOES THAT MEEEEEAN," but I digress. The spread is slightly different than last year's- whether that's good or bad, she didn't say (though I would guess, that means it's not great). I did attempt bribery for more specific information, but apparently as much as the nice woman would love to, "It's not worth losing (her) job." I then offered her my guest bedroom, but somehow, she resisted the offer.
2. She did say the Spring cohort is typically less competitive, and the points range for acceptance is lower. This was deeply unhelpful, as I applied for the fall.
3. She said the fall '22 cohort was accepted from 76.5 points up, but alternates had 75's and many of them wound up getting spots.

I hope you have a blog or a podcast of some sort because your commentary is everything ?. Thank you for the update!
I wonder if the letters will be sent out alphabetically or random

? I wish; I could use the extra income! My understanding is that the letters will all be sent out together. The woman on the phone was very clear that they put an emphasis on fairness, so if one letter goes out they should all be going out as well.

!???????????????!
I CALLED THE SCHOOL (and annoyed the lady, probably), AND BABY WE HAVE AN UPDATE!
1. She couldn't tell me the number of applicants for each specific cohort, but the total combined number was 419.
2. SHE SAID UNLESS SOMETHING GOES TERRIBLY WRONG, THEY ARE SENDING OUT OUR LETTERS AT THE END OF THIS WEEK!
I asked about the accepted points range, but she wouldn't give it to me. She said that if anyone has not been notified BY April 1st, to call them. I also asked if there was anything I could do (for free) to ensure nothing goes horribly wrong and we all get our letters sent this week, but she laughed and said no LOL. So that's it, that's the news. Those who have been picked have already been picked, and we should all know next week. Good luck to us all!!
