  1. @Villalbaso1 Hi there! I don't remember much of either one. It's one of those things that become such a blur after you're done because of all the emotion! Plus, I'm not too sure we can give that info out. Not everyone gets the same essay and it can change by cohort, the expectation, etc so it's not necessarily something you can prepare for. However, I did prepare for my interview by looking up tips on YouTube for nursing school interviews. If you have a passion for nursing, these couple of pieces of the application process shouldn't be too difficult. I actually appreciated that SJVC did this because it allows you to showcase yourself rather than being chosen by just what you look like on paper (grades and TEAS). Hope this helps, best of luck!
  2. Thank you for the ideas! I didn't even think of Reebok! Did they by chance tell you dress code for orientation tomorrow?
  3. Where did you order the other ones from? I looked on Amazon and some of the shades looked off... I was thinking about just getting 1 set in case. Since I work in healthcare anyways, I can always just use them. What kind of shoes did you get?
  4. Ahh! That's so exciting you got your physical done! I'm crossing my fingers that today is the day. I will be happy with whenever I'm notified but I was really hoping to know by orientation day or prior to the first day at least. Did you get your scrubs and shoes?
  5. Stalking nursing posts like crazy though!! Do you know anyone that was accepted into SJVC? I don't know anyone and I live in Clovis so if I get in, fingers crossed I can find someone to switch off carpool with!
  6. @Prisilla no nothing yet ?
  7. @Prisilla I just emailed for an update & I am alternate #2! Ahh. So close. Thanks for cheering me on and being so invested girl!
  8. It's Tuesdays and Thursdays lecture/on campus and 1 clinical day on anyday chosen for you (not on a Tuesday or Thursday)
  9. Did anyone else also apply to SJVC?
  10. Wow, we are the same! I am a very "black and white" person I hate the grey areas of uncertainty or the unknown! LOL. I'm literally stalking all these forums as we speak! LOL. Trying to get a better idea... I also know I'll be heartbroken if I get to go to orientation and the first few weeks and then not make it through because seats didn't become available ?
  11. That's awesome girl! So happy for you! OMG right I'm losing my mind! I guess initially I wasn't in the top but I am now so I will be at orientation & the first few weeks of classes. I just hope I get a definite answer before then.. or before I lose my mind! LOL. I'm wondering how many alternates they took this time. Everyone I've talked to said prior years they've only had a few alternates like 5 or less.... Maybe if I don't hear anything else by Friday I'll call just to see if they'd be able to let me know which spot I'm in. "A shift in the list and now you are in the top 5" can mean anything. LOL. It could mean "you're #5" or "there was a big shift and now you're number 2" I'm just a huge planner so this is hard not knowing if I need scrubs, shoes, and all that or not.
  12. That gives me so much hope. Congratulations to you!! & Thank you for your response! Were you originally in the "top 5" alternates or do you know what alternate spot you were in? At first I was just told I was an alternate, then last Thursday I was told there was a shift in the alternates and now I'm in the top 5. I wish I knew which spot though. LOL.
  13. Congratulations @GB99 I am an alternate. Just waiting to hear more. Fingers crossed!
