Hello all - I wanted to start this thread for students who are applying or have been accepted into the Spring 2019 Accelerated BSN Program at The College of New Rochelle in NY. Hoping we can share tips/advice and ask any questions to make this a smooth process for everyone!

Yes I have been accepted to their accelerated program starting Spring 2019 and think we should share tips as well. I definitely want this to be a smooth process!
Awesome! Did you submit your deposit? Will you be commuting or living on campus/in the area? Did you get any further information at this point?
Hey yes I did. I will hopefully be staying with a friend who's currently in the program living off campus. And no further information as of yet but I'll keep you posted. I'm so nervous but definitely excited to start this program!
Awesome! Same here. It'll be a huge change but I'm very much looking forward to it! I'll let you know if I hear anything as well.

Just got my acceptance letter yesterday! I might be joining you! What do you guys think of the program? What have you been able to find out about it?
Congrats! That's super exciting. I reached out to admissions regarding a new student orientation day and they said details will go out in the upcoming weeks/months. Other than that, I haven't heard much else since I've submitted the deposit.
Very good information, thank you. I hear that the program is very challenging, and that in some cases people get knocked down to a slower track. Obviously any accelerated program will be difficult, but I hope this isn't too intense! Have you been able to gather any info about how the professors are, or how difficult the coursework is? I am also very eager to find out what a weekly schedule might look like and where we will be expected to commute to since I live in the city.
No problem. I've heard that as well for other ABSN programs which is kind of scary! I've been out of undergrad for about 3 years so it'll be a change. I talked to someone currently in the program and she mentioned that she is learning a lot and liking her placements, but sometimes getting in touch with administration can be difficult so you really have to be on top of your stuff. I'm also eager to find out about a weekly schedule. Are you also waiting to hear back from other schools before deciding?
Congrats! Yes same here I would like to know what a typical weeks schedule will look like. Hopefully we get more information sooner than later!
Hopefully! What has your friend said that's in the program now said about it? Do they like it?
She is in the traditional program not the accelerated. She actually told me that they aren't the best when it comes to organization and that some of the professors she has had were not the best and that she had to teach herself the materials at times but overall she's happy that she got into a nursing program close to her location.
