College of New Rochelle Accelerated Program

Published

Hi everyone!

I have been looking around the site for info on the College of New Rochelle Accelerated program and there doesn't seem to be too many people applying or in the program.

If anyone has any information about this program (how competitive it is, if it is any good, any other relevant info) it would be greatly appreciated! :)

Kw,

There are somethings that I am holding off on purchasing until I get my apartment. The prices if you live alone are 900&up, so the schools housing department has a listing that you go see in person, of all the availible listings for shared housing.

I did not get an acceptance letter. Probably, I will get one for the traditional bsn program, i.e. 2 yrs program, that's the other option; if you don't get accepted on the accelerated. The cnr will mail these on the 26th of May. I am moving for other reasons than the cnr program. and I am in Brooklyn, and searching apt. in Brooklyn.

Ms. K,

Keep in touch then I have applied for the Individual Track myself, and I hope to get accepted for the Fall. If that happens to both of us, then we can start a study group. Just for introductions my real name is Charlene Flournoy, and I live in Manhattan. Good Luck to all who still waits...........Show them what you got, those of you who already got in......

Guys,

Did you check to make sure ALL of your materials & necessary credits were in? I thought my application was complete until march (applied September) when I called and found I was missing 6 credits. I don't have anywhere near a 4.0, but lots of clinical and volunteer experience & work experience which I believed saved me. If I didn't stalk the office I would have never known I was missing materials. Look there only 15 email adresses listed so 9 spots are open, call their still accepting people! You may just be missing a paper or so.

They never answer the phone when you call, the nursing admissions department. Well, I have to call registrar then get connected because when you press 1, and 2. No one answers but the voicemail.

How do you get through...........

I had the same problem until I found the staff directory listed on the website. For SON secretary of admissions 914-654-5452 or better: 914-654-5870. The directory has everything so you font have to be transferred to voicemail. Good luck.

Thank you,

I'll try right now if they are not tired of me calling

Hey Guys,

I originally applied to the accelerated track last August 2008 for this Fall, but my application was moved to the individualized track since I just completed my four year degree and my last transcript will not be sent out til the May 21. I'm excited about this and very optimistic that the outcome will be favorable..Hopefully we will all be accepted...And we could do a study group, I live in the Bronx but I will be commuting...

Fingers Crossed for all of us individualized track prospects...

Hi,

Where do you live in the Bronx? I live on the boarder of both the Bronx and Manhattan. I too will be communting are you driving? Or are you taking Metro North?

I'm getting stressed just waiting to find out.

I live on the 2 train, right near the metro north. Near East 233rd. Most likely I will be taking the metro north.

I'm also getting stressed just waiting to find out..

Ms. L,

I will be driving to the campus if I am accepted. I was just accepted at Lehman College for my Master in Special Education. I have not decided yet whether or not take the offer, I will know after May 26, 2009 or finish my Masters in Business at Monroe where I only need 24 credits to obtain a Masters Degree.

I will know :argue:after I finish debating with myself. My wish is to accomplish something that is challenging and hopefully my wish will come true.

Ms. GT,

Did you find out whether or not that test will have to be taken? Also did they fill the 9 empty seats that remains to be filled in the accelerated program.

Okay,

At the meeting yesterday they gave us so much info. The TEAS is mandatory on 9/8 it's like 4hrs, tests all type of info (little science). It's so demanding, classes are from 8am to 6:30 or 8:30pm Monday-thurs. Fri, sat, Sunday off. The fall schedule well have is 4days a week, slower paced. They did not fill the other 9 seats, so it's just 15 students, one male.

Clinicals are on a lottery system. Uniforms are blue top, white bottom, and white overcoat.

Full time tuition -$12300. Arrange financial aid early, payment for fall is due 8/15, they have payment plans. Parking is largely on surrounding streets. Those commuting good luck, I'm 45 mind from CNR (with traffic) and by the time I got home I had a headache. There are late night classes, and some 3hr gaps. I don't have a booklist yet, but it depends on the NUR class.

Campus is beautiful, I'll meet most of you in fall, I'll be living up there (I need a roomate), but well hardly be home. I think you can accelerate your study with permission.
