Hello Friends! I was recently accepted into the ABSN program at College of Mount Saint Vincent for the Spring 2021 start. Was wondering if anyone else is applying there, or if they have received their acceptance into the program as well. Let's connect!

Hey! I don’t know the exact date, but it’s sometime late January.

Hey all! All I know if tomorrow is the financial aid meeting on zoom...orientation at the campus on Jan 6th...I think classes start the week of the 23rd ?

Aww thank you! How was anp2? Was it hard?

Do you guys have any insight about the program? Like the professors, schedules etc? Do people end up failing in the first semester? Thank you for any response!

It was tricky in the beginning but it really wasn’t that bad once you get the hang of it. 
 

as for the program I don’t really know much hopefully someone does because I’m definitely curious.

This was my first semester there. The professors don't teach. All they do is post slides (sometimes not all) and tell you to read the text book. All we do is come in for clinical and lab. Professor Feliciano teachers very well (Fundamentals lab) and Professor Theary teaches well also (Health Assessment Clinical). If you end up with Laura Garcia, she won't teach and she doesn't have the heart to curve. Professor Yakoby may come off as tough but he's the best lecture teacher and the only one who teaches. Lopez doesn't teach but she goes over tests before we take them. Garcia spent her last class teaching how to take tests instead of reviewing the final. Also, Garcia gives us group work and doesn't grade them. Lastly, there is tons of ATI work so don't put them off! I regret going to this money hungry school.

My friend also completed the first semester and she warned me about Garcia as well. Is it true tho that classes are back in person now? Don’t worry my bf and my coworker go to Monroe in the Bronx and they don’t teach either it’s the way thing are now with the online bs. He also had ALOT of ATI. He has only one good professor the rest don’t even respond to emails. I honestly can’t believe the clinical situation. My friend told me they barely actually did anything during this semester for clinical. Smh hopefully it gets better once classes go back in person

OMG this sounds terrible! So if a lot of these professors don't teach what do they even do when you guys show up to class? Are there any other professors besides this one teaching other semester? How hard are the exams--is it related to the books/classwork? What's the point of ATI? Are a lot of people passing these courses if you know?

my bf does ATI at his school and it is terrible. it does not even correlate with what you do in class thats the worst part. also for anyone thats in queens campus just know if you fail a class you have to retake it at the riverdale campus. you cannot choose professors. IDK how hard exams are obviously im not in the program as of yet but my friend has to retake fundamentals she said it was really hard for her
