College of Marin Fall 2021

Hello!  I just applied to COM’s nursing program for fall 2021. I believe I have 86 points per my calculations. Anyone else applying?  I heard that quite a lot of applicants from 2020 who got in last year decided to defer for a year due to COVID, so there will be less available spots this year!!  I’m hoping 86 pts is enough to get in, and I’m also hoping to apply for the BSN program through either option they offer. Would love to hear from anyone else hoping to get in to COM Nursing this year!

Hello,

Longtime reader of threads and I finally made an account LOL. I got an acceptance as well and was wondering how those of you who accepted as well are going about the next steps. I submitted my intent to accept the spot offer on Tuesday and I noticed in the Welcome packet that we are supposed to get a Course Registration Grid after they receive our acceptance. Has anyone gotten theirs yet?

I also accepted on Tuesday, but haven’t received any type of grid. I think they will wait until at least the next wave of acceptances before they send out the grid?  Also I checked and I can’t even register for classes until May 15th (that’s my priority registration date). So I can’t even register for the one class they told us to register for right away.

Same here, you're probably right about them waiting. I emailed asking about all the documents they need from Complio but no reply yet. So my background check is done and I'm working on getting my drug test done as well. When they say all of that should be completed by end of day May 4th, what does that entail exactly LOL I'm a little confused cause that isn't a lot of time to gather all of that, like a PPD for example, by that time.

I think you only have to accept or deny your spot by May 1st, but you have until June 1st to complete all the complio documents.

This is what my email said

"Review the Welcome packet and open your American Databank/Complio account, order the RN Bundle-Immunization Tracking, Background Check, 10-Panel Drug Screening, Clinical Rotation Access, this will start the process for your Background Check and Drug Screening, by end of day (5pm) Tuesday, May 4th, 2021"

Sorry, but I’m in panic mode! I agree with kendrer; it HAS to be June 1. Simply no time to complete by May 4. That’s not realistic.

Yeah I think it just means you have to get the process started: open the account, and initiate the background check etc. I did my background check and drug test (although the drug test results take about 72 hours after you submit your sample I think). All the other stuff would be impossible to complete by Monday!  But get the process started is what I think they want.

Okay. Thanks guys, that's what I thought but the wording in that email was confusing. That definitely makes more sense

That’s correct. Creat account via link given in a welcome package (complio) before deadline which is May 4. You will have till June 1st to submit all supporting docs. ? no time to panic. One month will fly by.
