Hi everyone! I just wanted to start a new thread for anyone applying to COC for the Spring 2020 term so we can share stats and info during the admission process. This will be my second time applying to the program so if you have any questions I’m happy to try answer any questions you might have about my experience from applying for the Fall 2019 term. Anyways, welcome and I’m excited to hear from you guys!

Well I mean that makes sense. I heard it also varies depending on the semester. It depends on the people who apply and their scores so hopefully we have a chance! Coc also only takes first attempts so who knows. We can only hope and have faith. My friend was on the waitlist for this upcoming semester so she is in and she said they’re taking 40..so 35 top scoring and 5 random.

How does the waitlist work!

I don’t understand because that’s not giving the rest of the bunch a chance. I have heard from others that they take the first top scoring along with GPA and then random selection after. What info do you know?
Hi! I just finished the first semester of the nursing program at COC and I made an 84.5 on my TEAS. I got in on the first application. I had a 4.0 bio GPA and a 3.8 regular GPA with volunteer experience.
Jasmine I was on the alternate list last semester. My TEAS is 78 but my GPA is high. I got offered for a spot a month before few weeks before semester starts. I declined because I got accepted in the college I wanna go to. Yes. It depends on the students applying that semester so there’s hope. you have a good chance.

Every school is flooded with applications. You really want to be nearly perfect to be honest. I myself and my friends did not get in multiple rounds. With 80 TEAS and 4.0. I have a bachelors degree plus other points. The cut off is usually around 82 points.

Are you talking about COC? I’ve never heard of the cut off being that high. I think the cut off was 70ish semester!

This gives me hope! How many points did you have if you don’t mind me asking? ?

Yep. I applied last Spring and fall 2018. The cutoff was around there so I was told. I think previously it may have been lower, and it might be lower now. But I also applied to just about every ADN program in SoCal and finally gave up and went BSN. Good luck though!

I’m sure you’ll be fine! Look at all the people that do get in, hopefully that will be you! I moved and I am going to west coast, with an academic scholarship. It’s tough out there but you’ll know when you end up in the right place!

Good for you! I was actually considering West Coast if I don't get in somewhere this round! Thank you! This is my first round applying. I just completed all my pre reqs at COC.
