Hi everyone! I just wanted to start a new thread for anyone applying to COC for the Spring 2020 term so we can share stats and info during the admission process. This will be my second time applying to the program so if you have any questions I’m happy to try answer any questions you might have about my experience from applying for the Fall 2019 term. Anyways, welcome and I’m excited to hear from you guys!

I have the same amount of points and this has made me a little bit worried but at the same time I don’t think it’s good to compare ourselves to others because we’ve done our best.

I just want to wish everyone good luck! I know emails aren’t coming out until next week but we all just need to stay positive because we all have done everything we could ?

Hey!! So the first 6ish weeks may seem overwhelming due to all the new skills you will be learning in skill lab (if you had no prior experience like myself). We learn to do Head to toe assessments, Foley catheters, etc. To me, the skills were the “hardest” part because it was so new. I feel as though the lecture material was not too bad. You will be able to get an A if you don’t let everything pile on and study bit by bit daily. I remember being so scared because people say OMG it’s the hardest thing ever! But honestly the info is not that hard, it’s just the amount of it that’s a lot. I used the Davis drug guide daily, and the Taylor fundamentals book a lot too for reference. The Brunner book was used the second half of the semester for concept maps etc. (professors did a good job of giving enough info on powerpoints that the books were more for supplemental detailed info in my experience)

Would you say you used the powerpoints more than reading the book? Thank you!

100000%. You will quickly realize the chapters are very wordy and extremely long. Reading certain sections is still very good to get some extra detail, but for sure the PowerPoints have a lot of the necessary info already on them. (In my opinion)

Would it still be good to get the textbooks then?
