Hello All!
I noticed that there wasn't a thread for this year so I wanted to start one.
I live in near Hartford, CT and I'm 25 and I want to start a career in Nursing.
I have a BA in Psychology with a low undergrad GPA of a 2.51 ?
So I'm taking the longer route to eventually become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
I do have a high pre-req GPA due to class retakes at several community colleges and I've also completed all of the pre-req requirements too.
Teas score of 76, and experience as Americorps state member at a health education site with 1700 hours.
Im hoping to take the kaplan test soon so any advice would help too! Admissions stated that they would give me a May 19 or 20th test date.
Anyone know when we will hear back from admissions after taking the test?
Also what score is competitive?
I think I am going to take a break from this thread until I get confirmation of a denial/acceptance. This is going to wear me down. I have been through so much in this nursing journey and need to reboot. I am just hoping me failing out of a nursing program doesn't block me forever. It was so hard to pick myself up after that failure to pursue my LPN right after. I am willing to fight to get my RN but I need to take a step back from this thread. I am rooting for all of you to succeed and remain hopeful!

I completely understand!?I’m praying you and everyone who hasn’t heard back get some good news this week ♥️
I emailed the school today as I haven't received a response. I sent an email last week and they said by Friday. Heard nothing on Friday. I am going to assume I didn't get in at this point. I just don't know what else I could have done to be more competitive? My Kaplan is 85, my GPA is 3.4. I wrote a personal statement about my past failure and how I entered an LPN program right after that failure. I maintained a 3.8 GPA in the LPN program. I don't know if it would even make any sense to reapply for the Spring semester. My prereqs are about 8yrs old now. This is why I applied to Cochran as they accept anything under 10yrs. I'd rather not take my prereqs over. CONGRATS to all who were accepted and good luck in the program!

If I were you ill try again your scores are amazing and your goa as well. I just feel this was handled very poorly in terms of communication to the students who applied and are being patient. Like a whole month went by and nothing has been told to us . I took my test on May 21 and I don't even know if im denied or accepted. Try again love don't give up bc you have done great!
@Aspirational Beauty I feel the same way. I got an 84 on the Kaplan and have a 3.6 GPA.
I know there are a lot of brilliant people out there, but I thought that would be good enough to have been accepted.
This really hurts because it’s not my first rodeo.
Just trusting God for things to fall into place soon enough. Hang in there future RNs!

Hi Aspirational Beauty check with Haneen to see if the are taking students that failed out of nursing program. I think in one of the info session that I went to they stated that they don't but don't quote me on it. Things and time changes. I would also recommend you look into Mercy college I think they take student that fail a class. Best of luck keep reaching for your goals.

Thanks for the suggestion of Mercy! I went to an info session and specifically asked this question. They told me to write a personal statement about what happened and might also request recommendations. I asked Haneen via email if what I had given her was sufficient and she then set me up to take the Kaplan so I am a bit confused. I would of gotten recommendations if they wanted them but I think the two professors from my old nursing program have retired. They were the ones who also wrote my recommendations for the LPN program and told me to keep going towards a career in nursing.
