Hello All!
I noticed that there wasn't a thread for this year so I wanted to start one.
I live in near Hartford, CT and I'm 25 and I want to start a career in Nursing.
I have a BA in Psychology with a low undergrad GPA of a 2.51 ?
So I'm taking the longer route to eventually become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
I do have a high pre-req GPA due to class retakes at several community colleges and I've also completed all of the pre-req requirements too.
Teas score of 76, and experience as Americorps state member at a health education site with 1700 hours.
Im hoping to take the kaplan test soon so any advice would help too! Admissions stated that they would give me a May 19 or 20th test date.
Anyone know when we will hear back from admissions after taking the test?
Also what score is competitive?
for me to apply to community colleges I have to repeat some pre reqs that I already took and are passing for some schools and others require higher grade is been 11 yrs of a journey and I feel like that will slow me down. plus I work and have to work so I can only join an evening program which limits things for me

That's what happened to me. I had to repeat my A&Ps, Micro, stats, Math,Chem, etc etcccc at a community college.
I also didn't make it in the program, work full time and can only do evening nursing classes =(
BUT, I have no choice but to keep pushing and finding a way where there is NO way....
Good luck everyone!
@Aspirational Beauty @PM826 @Kriz @Nursing8K I received one as well. Guys look up chamberlain school of nursing it’s located NJ it is more expensive but you can start in the September class or January if you start the progress. Entrance exam is the HESI exam. Even if you failed out of a program you will get in. They take courses up to 10 years old. Good luck everyone p.s. I start in September there and I failed out of Wcc two years ago. So there’s always another option don’t give up
@Nursing8K we thinking the same hun!

Keep pushing everyone don't give up! I didn't Get to meet you guys but we all want this so keep going after it! ??

This is my situation. I would have to repeat prereqs and was trying to avoid this but I think I may have to retake them at this point.

I was just looking at Chamberlain the other day. I also failed out of WCC four years ago. I was wondering if I could reapply to them because it has been awhile. I noticed that some of the professors seem to be no longer there.

I finally received a rejection email today after emailing them today inquiring if I can apply for next semester. I had to reiterate if I was still eligible to apply so I sent a follow-up email. I honestly don't know what else I can do to be accepted anywhere at this point. Kaplan score 85 and pereq GPA 3.4. Bounced back from an RN program failure into an LPN program with a 3.8 GPA. What else can I really do to be marketable to be accepted beside going to an expensive school to become an RN at this point. I see my failure will follow me forever even though I thought I believed I persevered. This makes me question me furthering my career in nursing. This is just me ranting. But overall I want to wish those accepted good luck and CONGRATS! And to those who weren't accepted keep going cause you guys are working with a clean slate!
