COC Fall 2014 accepted students!

Hi Everyone!

I am starting this thread for anyone who has been accepted into the COC Fall 2014 Program.

My hope is that here, we can discuss everything from orientation to whatever! I have started working on folder 1 and folder 2. Everything in folder 2 must be received by the Nursing Department by 5/29.

You will probably get your numbers the same time we do, which is after the last finals. Which for us is next Tuesday.

Just got back from my cruise yesterday! My finals went well got an A in theory and a B in pharm. Overall a B in the class. It's hard to explain you have 2 classes but technically it's one course. I didn't do my best on some of the midterms so I couldn't get an A. You must get a 75% or better average on all test or you fail the course. Since they are weighted grades and test are 95% or your grade not doing so well on one test basically means you can't get an A :(. But let me just tell you I was an A student all along. Nursing school changed that for the majority of the class.

You should go in there not trying to be competitive since everyone must have gotten above average grades or they never would have got accepted. Some will continue to be A students but most won't (at least from my experiences) and that is just ok. It won't make you any less of a good nurse. Strive to get B's and all will be good :). Don't be devastated if you don't get an A :)

Yay..! I just saw the uniform info is up.! The same place you order the patches you can get the uniform from them Vistauniforms. The lady ------------ is very nice and she can add patch for you onto your uniform. ;D making my life just that much easier.

awesome!!!!! Thanks for the heads up! Im gonna go to a loval uniform place to use for sizing and then price around and order what fits best when i size at the store.

@Andrea.may1 - I do not see the COC Style numbers on the website where we order our patches...they have similar items, but I cannot locate them from their site. Did she say specifically they carried those style numbers? I guess I could call her and ask, but wondering if she gave you pricing for each of the style numbers or?

I was looking for that as well. I guess we need to call them. I was thinking going to one of the Cherokee retailer and just get it from them as I would need to try them on first. Unless pricing are dramatically different .... I wonder what the cost is in comparison to other stores. Please update if you know

Uniform Land on Cinema drive offers a 10% discount to RN Students. She said since we dont have our ID's yet, we could bring in our acceptance letters. I found another website that is cheaper than Uniform land even after the discount (if you want the address PM me since we arent allowed to post websites here). I will prob go to Uniform land for sizing and order online.

Yes excited I called and she said that she is going to have those specific style numbers within a couple days, she said she would have samples we can try on and figure what size we need. It's not on the site yet but she said she would add them ASAP.
