I'm starting this thread for everyone applying for COC's spring 2014 RN program. Please feel free to join in. We're all in this together! For anyone who's thinking of applying, the deadline for turning in your transcripts and requesting your prerequisite evaluation is tomorrow!
I'm an LVN hoping to get into the LVN to RN program. I applied last year and received an email notifying me that I qualified for the program but that they didn't have the required 20 qualified LVN applicants to offer the class. Booo hooo hooo... Oh well, I completed all of the General Ed classes in the meantime and have my fingers crossed for this time around :-)
I'm a little nervous about the TEAS V test and am starting to study for it. I read that the test is pretty challenging. Yikes!
I look forward to hearing from my fellow nail-biters!

Say it isn't so! Oh why, oh why, oh why would they do a thing like that! Did they give you any reason? Did you take the computerized version of the test? I thought we would get our results as soon as we finished the test! Oh the cruelty of it all! I don't want to spend the entire weekend playing a guessing game! Why not just kill me now!
I know!! No reason, all she said is they won't be available until Monday .... And the board said the same thing, and that selection emails will be sent out mid October and the orientation is on the 25th if you get selected... Yes it was the computerized one!!! It said "calculating score" and then "press proceed to view score" and I got so hopeful, until I got the pop up saying they have restricted it . It is going to be a LONG weekend!
The scores are unblocked! Good job on the 89.3! I'm shocked at my score, I thought I failed. I ended up getting a 82. Even more shocked that I got my highest score in science overall a 92, but 100 percent on two of the subscores. I thought the reading and math would be my best, but turns out they were my worst.
I'm sooo kicking myself! I neglected to keep track of the time on the math portion of the test :-( When I looked at the clock I still had 9 more questions to answer and only 8 seconds left! I only had time to guess at one of the questions before the clock stopped! I left 8 questions completely blank! If only I had answered the easier and less time-consuming problems first and then went back to do the rest! Of course I should have kept track of the time also! Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...
I ended up scoring 80%. Oh well, at least it's over with!
Congratulations to everyone!
Something similar happened to me. I had 8 questions left and just under 8 minutes (so thankful it wasn't 8 seconds!!) and I started panicking to make sure I finished on time. I ended up finishing with 20 seconds to spare. Congrats on passing !! I am so happy this part is over. I'm curious when their version of "mid October " will be.
