Co-Worker not smelling so good

Published

What do you do if one of your co-workers have this "not-so-good-smell" going on with them? I mean those with strong body odors, that you'll get dizzy once you're beside them especially if they are hanging the IV (arms raised). Do you confront them or just pretend that your not smelling anything?

And yes, being fresh for me actually means washing, taking showers, bath sometimes. . . so, NO, I'm not a dude! :p
I'm sorry, what was your point?

Have to say, I wonder too. All the guys I know shower pretty much daily from what I know, my last boyfriend would often shower twice a day. I think it would be EASIER to shower more often if I were a guy, as it is now, it takes forever to dry my hair (no, that doesn't STOP me, but I would shower twice a day rather than once sometimes if my hair wasn't such a pain in the neck). If I could just towel dry my hair and go, I'd be in the shower all the time. :)

QUOTE=vegas2009;4186741I'm not saying men stink, and women fresh as daisies. But, men can get away without taking a shower probably 3 days tops (and still be ok). As for women; well, let's just say, most women prefer to wash EVERYDAY. I don't know about the rest of ya'll but I like my showers and wouldn't trade them for anything! .... My showers, body sprays, deodorants, perfumes, etc. :D

What's really funny to me is alot of guys like that stuff too. . .they just give it a "man-ly" sounding name like "Axe", put it in a blue or red bottle with racing stripes on it and a "guy" scent like Surf and Sport or whatever.:lol2: Usually it's not called moisturizer and perfume but it's the same stuff! Me and my son laugh about it alot. The directions go easy on descriptions of lovely scent-filled bubbles and say, "grab your washcloth-lather that up, etc." Marketing. ..gotta love it!!

Ahh, I use Dial shampoo and soap, real convenient as it comes in one nice easy to use yellow bar; and I use it once a week whether I need it or not... sniff, sniff, hmm must be close to Friday. :)

My ex was VERY anti-bodywash, even those marketed towards men. He said they left a "film" on his skin. Hm, OK. Plain old bar soap, but at least he did it daily, right? :p

I, on the other hand, hate bar soap. It's SO drying, no matter what brand you get.

My ex was a Dial soap guy through and through also. it isn't too bad, it's the smell of Irish Spring makes me want to vomit. You're right, Cherrybreeze, bar soaps are extremely drying, and Ivory soap I've found to be one of the worst offenders. It is supposed to be mild! I used to work with a dermatologist and got free samples of "the good stuff"- Eucerin, Lubriderm, Aveeno, Neutrogena, and Keri. All made bar soaps in the past, not worth the 6 bucks a bar to me! Suave body wash works great. :)

Ed to add: not sure if brandname mentions are against TOS, not recommending for or against anything!

I agree. Even if I'm using Jergens Mild Soap, its not mild at all. Well at least milder than Dial. And I'm also anti Irish Spring. It smells like Glade or something.

LOL... I'm a fan of the anti-bacterial bodywash. They're just smooth as silk, smells good too. No offending smell like Irish spring or cocoa butter.

I would refer this one to charge nurse so it can be appropriately handled without any

repercussions to you. They must notice this too. good luck!

This woman is a real person, with feelings. Do you think she WANTS to stink, that she wants everyone to laugh at her and talk about her behind her back? Now we are joking about it? "oh ask her if she went to the gym and didnt shower" etc-thats just rude.

Put an anonymous note in her locker and tell her that you've noticed she has some body odor. very polite "Dear Jane Doe: While working together, I've noticed that you have an unpleasant body odor. I'm not judging you, I just thought you might want to know. "

and stop talking about her to coworkers. how rude and middle school-ish. and dont tell management, or put it in a peer eval, b/c really, thats just spreading the nastiness and if they tell her face to face, whats that going to do that sending her a note wont? it will make her feel a lot more embarrassed and ashamed.

dont tell her to her face unless you are really good friends with her.
