CNR 2015 applicants? 2nd degree

Published

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows the response time for CNR 2015. The deadline was oct 17, 2014. Im just too anxious to know if i got into school. This is for the 2nd degree program ( college of new rochelle)

Thanks

Hi! Are you going to be commuting from Nassau County to The College of New Rochelle? I'm trying to figure out what to do lol

I'll be commuting from Nassau Country. I drove there for the open house, it took about 30-35 minutes with no traffic, not too bad. I'm taking Basic Life Support for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association this coming Monday, still have to sign up for the First Aid class.

Anyone get any financial aid info yet? scholarships?

I don't qualify for pell since this will be my second degree, and I've used up 8 semesters of TAP already for my undergrad, so it will just be loans and out of pocket for me. Tuition is $724 per credit x 59 = 42,716 + fees etc.

Anyone get any financial aid info yet? scholarships?

At the information session the financial aid counselor said second degree students do not qualify for scholarships from the school. However, there is a possibility that a donor will give the second degree nursing cohort a grant that will be split equally amongst all enrolled students

Hello everyone!

I received my acceptance letter yesterday, i am a transfer student from Suffolk County Community College. I currently live all the way out in Suffolk so i will be relocating somewhere close to the school. Does anyone have any advice on where to look for apartments that are in a safe area?

Hi congrats!! were you accepted into the accelerated program beginning in June 2015?

Suffolk county is quite the drive !! I heard westchester county is super nice, I heard to just avoid " Lincoln Avenue"

thanks :) No i was accepted as transfer student into the traditional bachelors program. I start in the fall. Thanks for the info :) Do you have any information on financial aid, scholarships or anything like that?

Hi Caitlin,

I am starting the second degree program this summer. I live in the bronx which is not that far from CNR. I would recommend north bronx like pelham or eastchester these are nice areas very close to the school if you drive.

Anyone here know anything about the coop city campus? The fall and spring sessions for the accelerated students will be held there instead. Parking? Are the labs there well equipped and updated? It seems like they are making several changes to the program, summer cohort will have 50 students rather than the normal 30-35 in the past, different campus, hesi, and several new professors. Seems like the new dean is expanding the program and implementing program changes to increase NCLEX rates.

I live in Co-op and there is a huge parking lot, so that will not be a problem.

For relocation, most of the Northeast Bronx is pretty safe: Pelham Bay, Pelham Pkwy, Allerton, Country Club, Throggs Neck, Parckchester, Castle Hill.

There are 52 people in the program. My guess is that is why we are being separated from the other nursing students.

I have friends that graduated from Co-op City's campus. I will see what type of info I can gather...hellmaybe on my day off, I will go over there and snoop around...

Hey!

The bronx isn't too bad. Like some of the other comments- I would recommend Morris Park, Pelham Gardens (Eastchester Road Area), Pelham Pkwy, Riverdale, Country Club, Throggs Neck, and Pelham Bay. Westchester will probably be more expensive.
