  1. I got mine too around 5:30 yesterday, whoever gets in, I will see you soon in August =) cheers
  2. Yes, it caught me off guard. Mine was like 1 page long and the topic was : What do you think about nurses wearing white uniforms. At least along the context about white uniforms and nurses.
  3. as long as your debt outcome doesnt exceed your startiing career salary then its fine. Nurses at my hospital make 50k starting, so I wouldn't spend any more than 50k for 4 years. Getit?
  4. I got an 84 on the exam. The first time I took the exam, it was at conchron school of nursing. I scored a 70 and my lowest section was grammer. I retook it again a week later at montifore and the exam was exactly the same questions as before, but I didn't study at all except review grammer things like when to use puncutation etc. So here is my tips for the how to do well on the exam. I don't think buying a kaplan review book was evening worth it based on its reviews on amazon and how it had alot of irrevelant things. Here is the break down: Reading: Read the question first then look at what its asking to help you save time. Most people will read the entire passenge first which is a mistake . For example, it might tell you to look at sentence 2 and explain the meaning of a word in a different context. Basic questions will be asked such as what is the summary of paragraph 3 etc. Like I said, look at the question first. Math: This should be an easy section for everyone cause it gives you a calculator on the test. If you simply input every problem into the calculator you should do well. Some general things to know going into the test is order of operation ( PEMDAS), fractions and finding the LCD ( least common demoniator), knowing when to flip a fraction when using division, also understand how to get a percent out of a decimal and vise versa, and last thing is know how to setup a proportion, ex: 25 professor to 100 students in fall 2015, if there is 300 students in fall 2016, how many professors? 25/100= x/300 students, notice how i put each item parallel to other. Lastly, know how to make a fraction a whole number, ex: nurse gives 1/2 oz of medication in the moring, 1/4o oz in the afternoon, nurse needs to use all the medication by the evening shift, what is the left over oz of medication nurse needs? Science: stricly all ANP, review all systems and understand general concepts of all systems. I gotstuck on a brain question, which said what part of brain controls thought and process and it listed the different lobes. Another question was describe the flow of blood through the heart and each chamber. Like I said, general ANP stuff Grammer: review puncutation, sentence flow, most of the questions were asking where to remove some word in the paragraph if any, to make it sound better, or it would ask which sentences in the paragraph were reptitive. conchron school of nursing offers the exam for free at their school, its good practice, but i think you have to submit an application or something to attempt it. Which is like 35$. Call and ask. Sorry for the long post, and some spelling errors
