Hi, nurse-hopefuls! I've been following along on all of the threads from the previous semesters and thought it might be nice to start fresh for the new round. Applications are due in about a month and a half and I was wondering how people were feeling?
My baccalaureate GPA is a 2.9, but my pre-requisite GPA is a 3.73. I also know I have a really strong personal statement. I'm hoping that will make up for my undergrad gpa.
Is anyone else getting nervous? The last thing I'm waiting on are my letter of recommendations so I'm hoping those come in soon...
Wishing you all luck!
I have been to three open houses but this is my first time applying and of course things get changed up. But typically, they get around 200 applications: less for spring start. Of those, almost half are incomplete or not up to par. They only seriously consider like 80 or so. They used to just grant interviews to those and then go from there. But it seems like this year, with the new wording, they are interviewing less. So I think the fact that we got interviews is a really good sign.
Also, from the other threads I've read, most people will hear back in a week. Check SIMS, because they will post "Institution-Admit" and you may not receive a call.
You ladies are very fortunate to hear so soon!
Due to the riots last spring it took much longer to hear back.
Good luck to everyone interviewing! UMSON is an amazing school with awesome faculty!
If you have any questions about the program or anything just ask.
I check back occasionally, I can't wait to hear when you all are accepted!
@anthroinscrubs, how did your interview go?? I'm dying to know!
Aw! I think it went really well! I'm crossing my fingers! :) I met with a faculty member and someone from admissions. They were both really wonderful. We talked too much and my interview went a little too long--but hey, that has to be a good thing, right?
All of the questions were really simple, standard interview questions. Nothing to stump you!
They also both agreed that if you can get through the first semester, you can do anything!
Good luck to everyone who is interviewing this week and beyond! Just breathe and you'll do great!
I spoke with a lady in the office, and she said there was no time frame, so it all just depends on how fast people are going through applications, etc. Also, there are only like 5 people on this thread that applied, so I wonder how many people have applied for Spring admission. I wonder how many people had interviews last week.
