Hi, nurse-hopefuls! I've been following along on all of the threads from the previous semesters and thought it might be nice to start fresh for the new round. Applications are due in about a month and a half and I was wondering how people were feeling?
My baccalaureate GPA is a 2.9, but my pre-requisite GPA is a 3.73. I also know I have a really strong personal statement. I'm hoping that will make up for my undergrad gpa.
Is anyone else getting nervous? The last thing I'm waiting on are my letter of recommendations so I'm hoping those come in soon...
My status has also changed to "Committee Ready!" I'm hoping we will hear next week about interviews. Did you guys receive an email about Letters of Rec? I was contacted and was told to "choose" a letter because they were trying to expedite the process this semester and were only going to be reviewing one letter for each applicant. This was well before the deadline, I had my application completed July 27th and they contacted me mid-August about this. That was the only change that I have heard about.
Also, shout out to my fellow Towson grads! I graduated in 2013 with a degree in Anthropology. Crossing my fingers for you all!
Same here regarding the letter of recommendation e-mail. It also says on the program page that "Effective for Spring 2016, applicants will be contacted if the Admissions Committee is interested in conducting an interview after receiving and reviewing all required application materials". I am not quite sure how this is different from other years, as UMSON has always appeared to do interviews for the CNL program, hence the reason I asked earlier in the thread. You really think it will be next week for interview notifications? That would be nice...
That's my best guess, based on all of the other forums I have read on the topic, it seems to be pretty quick once that has changed to "Committee Ready." It would be really interesting if they skipped some of the interviews and directly admitted some..
Eeeeeek! I just heard about an interview (via email)! :) They asked for dates for next week. The writing prompt will be something we do at home, online. They will send us more information after the interview is confirmed. Yikes!!!
Congratulations! I just got an email that some stuff was missing from my packet, even though SURFS has shown it to be complete ready for review for a while. At least I know they're looking!
I have applied to UMSON CNL program for Spring 2016. I have just read through this thread. And it is comforting to see I was not alone in my concerns. I will be interviewing next Thursday and completed the writing assessment yesterday afternoon. Good luck everyone!!

I am not sure as to the change this year, but last semester if you met all the minimum requirements you were invited for an interview.
