This thread is for those of us who are enrolled in a CNA course right now, and/OR will be certified between March and April. Here is where we rant, network, and/or brag about the way our course (s) are going, our experiences finding a job after our course/internship is completed, and what our plans are for the future (Nursing school, etc.).
We started this topic in another thread, lets keep this going! :heartbeat
Here is a little YouTube humor for all of us potential CNA's. A typical day in the life of a Certified Nursing Assistant :
wow, it seems like just yesterday i created this forum..
tonight was the last night of my cna course! although, as much as i may have complained, i am a little sad . i am going to miss my teacher, and my classmates. but, we are probably going to bump into each other for another month. we start clinical's april 6th - april 9th, and from then on, its time to pre-test, then off to state boards.
i am pretty excited to start my clinical rotation and i will let you all know how it goes. clinicals don't start for another 3 weeks. so technically, i have 3 weeks to go to remedial (practice) classes, watch videos, and study for the board exam!!!
in between that time, i may attempt to get my cpr certification as well because i noticed that alot of facilities require this now for employment ($60 certification fee).
so:
1. three weeks till clinicals start.
2. clinicals for a week. april 6 - 9th.
3. pre-test the following week.
4. board exam asap.
technically, the creator of this board isn't going to be certified and employed until may -june.. :chuckle
I graduated this past Monday! :yeah:YaY! It was a greuling 8 weeks, but I learned a lot and wouldn't trade that experience for anything. I also kinda miss it. We had 2 weeks of clinicals, 1 at LTC and 1 at Hosp. At the hospital, I got to see a bunch of neat procedures thanks to my inquisitiveness. Anytime I saw a nurse about to begin a surgical procedure or something I would tell them I was a wannabeRN and they would let me observe. I WAS SO LUCKY. I really want a tech job there, actually fell in love with that hospital. We got to meet with recruiters and NM's that welcomed us to return after boards. I take mine April 21st. I'm so scared though because class has ended, no more practicing in lab or during clinicals..............gotta make due with what we have around the house lol. It's kinda surreal now that I'm done, well done until test day.
CONGRATS TO EVERYONE THAT GRADUATED MARCH-APRIL:balloons:
Hey all! Sorry I have been MIA since the beginning. I have my state exam tomorrow and I am pretty nervous. I got all 95s on my quizes in class, but the clincal part is what is scary to me. I don't even know how to give someone a bedpan! My class has been a nightmare and that is why I am so nervous.
Wish me luck!
Hi ladies,
I haven't been in here for a couple of weeks. My CNA class was supposed to start March 2nd, but my funding didn't come through. I had to postpone until the next class started on March 30th. It was too hard to come here and see every one talking about their class and I was sort of left behind.
Anyway, I FINALLY get to start on Monday! Yay!! It should come quickly though. My daughters birthday party is this Saturday and hubby and I have plans Sunday. Busy til Monday.
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone again. This is a big step for me and Im glad to have you girls here for support.

I passed my finals today with an A!!! State board exams will be April 25th.
My interview went great and I am unofficially hired, just waiting for my background check to clear. I will have a paid two week training class/orientation to learn their coding system and procedures for their residents. I will be following another CNA until I pass my state board exam.
What a great 44th Birthday present!*HB*
Best wished to everyone and good luck with your classes.
Congrats to my fellow graduates!!!!:icon_hug:
