I'd like to know that too - whether you need experience to get hired at most places these days. I just got my CNA license and am working for an agency doing home visits, and I'm considering relocating to New York. Yes, I am planning on continuing my education to be an RN, so I can earn an actual living wage.
I worked as CNA in Long Beach and made 14/hr other LTCs in the area make as high as 18-20/hr through agency staffing. Wherever you decide to work, I'm almost positive there will be alot of overtime to request....meaning time and a half Hopes this helps. PM me if you have any questions. Good luck

Hi! Can anyone help me out with salary info for a cna in the Long Island area? I'm currently working on my pre-reqs for nursing school and I'll also be :confused:starting a cna course this September. As we all know, tuition is expensive and I'm excited about starting part-time work as a cna. I've gotten a lot of conflicting info about salary -- particularly hourly salary for cna's. Can anyone advise? Thanks!
