CNA salary for Long Island - NY area

Hi! Can anyone help me out with salary info for a cna in the Long Island area? I'm currently working on my pre-reqs for nursing school and I'll also be :confused:starting a cna course this September. As we all know, tuition is expensive and I'm excited about starting part-time work as a cna. I've gotten a lot of conflicting info about salary -- particularly hourly salary for cna's. Can anyone advise? Thanks!

In Huntington where I did the clinicals they start you at $15.

It really ranges between $12 up to $20; varies from LTC to Hospitals.

I've heard that Huntington will consider hiring a junior year nursing student as a CNA. Do you know of that having been the case? I've completed my nursing prerequisites and will be starting the actual program this coming fall semester.. I wonder if they would hire me after my first semester of clinicals?
