Merit Technical Institute* NJ
i was in the same situation as u a few months ago, didnt know what to do, but one thing i will tell u im currently attending mildred elley lpn program, if you pass or score really high on thier test and take the test early, u will not have to take the MA first and then try to transfer, mildred is agreat school to me, the location is great, the hours are great, from 8 30am to 12 or 11, or 2 sometimes, only four days a week, morning and night and i think week end also, the tuition is a lil high but if u qualify for financial aid, do a great essay for the scholarship, take some loans, and transfer credit if u have them it will not even be a concern, and books and uniforms are included also, to me beside VEEB in long island, i dont know any other school i will rather go to...

Mildred Elley NYC LPN Program
they offer financial aid, loans, grants, and sholarship.the info session is not really long, mostly tell u about the program, and give u a tour of the school, well thas how they did it when i applied in march.u cannot transfer your credits because they are too old, its up to ten years for english and psy, and 3 years for A&P 1 and A&P2,and BIO...i dont know if they change the rules now since i started in may, but best advice is for u to go and get all the info and make up ur mind...goodluck

Mildred Elley (manhattan campus)
i currently attend the nyc campus, and we are the first class that started, so far the program is great, great teachers, nothing to complain about. every 2 months we get new classes, the first two months u take 4 classes(freshman seminar, computer, medical term, bio 100) the next term u take 2 more( english and A&P1)and right now this monday we starting A&P2, and pharmacology) i dont know about next term yet, i believe every 4 to 6 months they give u a week break, we just took the first week off. At first if u doing morning, u will go to school 3 days a week 8 30 to 12 or 8 30 to 2 or 3 i dont remember and the next cycle u go to school monday thro thursday 8 30 to 12 and 8 30 to 3 with breaks in between, for the third cycle its monday to thursday 9 30 to 12 and thursday 9 30 to 4. therefore as u can see the hours are great, some of the kids dont work and some still have their fulltime job including me, if u make sure u study and pass every test with higher than 74 there is no way u will not pass the class, but u cannot get lower than a C if u do u will have to repeat, and u dont get to repeat the class right away, they will give u other classes and if u pass them u will get to repeat the ones u failed previously. make sure not to have a lower than a C try not to miss any classes and u will be fine. so far i cant complain about the school, and the location is great. and also u can transfer english an psy within 10 years, and A&P 1 and A&P2 withing 3 years, idk if they change the rules, if u need anymore info just let me know.GOODLUCK.

well i think registration is close for the week-endprogram for now, and now since they have so many applicants daily they are only taking the top 40 grades, on the entrance test for the weekend program , but its not a bad school.

mildred elley practical nursing program
you do not have to travel to Albany anymore, before when they used to be an extension sites to their main albany campus, we had to travel there for one day with the school to take a day class there if you didnt have any college credits to transfer but now that they are accreditated we do not have to do that anymore. the program is 16 months for day and night and 18 month for weekend. i dont know if they change it. the only college credits youn can transfer are english 101 and spychology 101, only if they were taken within 3 years form the start date. i am also planing on transfering a few credits also. but it does not mean you will actually finish earlier. you might spend less time in class but you will graduate at the same time. when i took my test in march, it was pretty easy but long. the reading and writing were the longest. practice COMPASS test online, its the same format and make sure to score high, they are only taking top scores now. and remmeber you migh pass the tess and because TAP ask for a certain percentage to get you might not be eligible to get financial aid, thas why they say score high. i think the next week-end class is in july, and i beleiev they give information sessions everyday. goodluck.

they are accredited. the reason why you see this on the website its a because when they first open they used to be an extension site to their albany campus. now they are on their own they are not an extension anymore. they just got accepted a few months ago by the nursing board. And they already file an application for a RN program also, and it will be offer to prevouis lpn students who went to the school first.

sorry i just realize i barely answered your questions, no you do not have to go to albany, because now they are accreditated, i also have a CNA certification but it cannot be compared to lpn. but if you think its the best way to go for you now well do what you have to do. i think you should go for it, especially now that they are making it harder to get in, the longer you wait , the smaller the chances of getting in are. tuition is extremely high, but books are included in it and you get loans, grants and financial aid and sholarship(which i did). even if you have a balance get a sencond job, do anything you can pay monthly or every semester which is every 3 to 4 months. the location is great, any train to bowling green, or wall street. and especially the day schedule is the best. if you have to get a part-time job do so, if you have to quit your job, do so, do anything you can to make sure to pass every test and success. the school is pretty unorganized because they just open the nyc campus, but if you know what you want, you will not even care. the reason im telling you to go for it its because of the location( since most people have to travel to long island or out of state for an rn or lpn program) and this one its right there. and even we get changes classes every two months the teacher still make sure to go over all the materials with you, and you dont feel like you rushing at all. if english is not your first language i suggest take an esl class in the meantime, if you not too familiar with computers, i suggest you take a free class, and for medical termanology, go online and start looking at the words and stuff start preparing yourself now. you eill not regret it.

mildred elley practical nursing program
hey sorry for taking so long to answer. the program is great so far. im in the day program and for the first module its three days a week from 8.30 to 12 and one day from 8.30 to 2. every two months you get a new schedule, but it will always be in the morning, 3 or 4 days a week. ill say every week and sometime every other week you get a test. since they have so many people interested in the program they are only taking top grades on the entrance test only. make sure you score really high on that test, be friendly to the admissions representative and bring in your deposit and go through financial aid and also they offer sholarship. make sure you show them you are really serouis about getting in. believe me everyday after class the lobby is always full with people that want to get in and the seat are limited now so whoever is interested start the process righ away even if they put you on a waiting list. its a little pricy, but when you start class you will not worry about it, you will be so excited to se in a few months you will become a nurse that it will not even matter to you. whoever cannot get financial aid(because i did not) dont be discourage, apply for loans, and the scholarship they give you up to 5000 and they also have a payment plan. we are almost finish with the first module, and make sure to maintain a 75 or higher. remember its not a vocatiponal school, its a small private college, therefore you will not only take lpn classes, you will have freshman seminar, computer, english, spychology and ect. right now we are taking medical terminology, bio, freshman seminar and computer and next month we will take ap1 and english, and in september we will start nursing classes. the teachers are great, if you study and form study groups like we do and meet at least once a week for a few hours there is no way you will not be able to pass the test. for now they mainly have haitians, jamaicans, and africans, and a few spanish people for the morning classes. if you have anymore questions feel free to write me i will be more than happy to help, goodluck.
