CNA Jobs $15-18 possible?

Published

I have heard agencies pay better than other jobs for cna/pct. I am scheduled to graduate with a CNA/HHA/ PCT (Patient care tech) certification in July. Is it possible to make $15-18 and get 40 hours? I need to make $15 to make my bills. Any advice/tips/leads? Thanks so much!

I work at the VA in Gainesville FL. I know many CNA's that make well over $13 some make $15-$17 plus. I know this to be factual not heresay. Honestly they pay CNA's more than they pay LPN's. I am an LPN, all of the CNA's on my floor make $1to $5 dollars more than me.

..........................and NO I am not a new grad.

I think some of them have been there for many years, and this is the reason why they make more than you!

I work PRN in a medium sized hospital in a small/medium sized town and they start PRN CNA's at $10.00/hour. There aren't any benefits though, but right now I'm still covered by my parents anyway.;)

Night shift pay differential is 13%, so on night shift hours I make $11.30/hour. I'd imagine pay is based on the area in which you work and cost of living. Like making $15.00/hour here as a CNA would be crazy, but would be ridiculous compared to cost of living. So a lot of it has to do with area and type of work involved. I'd say private agencies probably pay more.

I haven't seen much more than 12 in my area, SE michigan

Hi, I'm new at this site and also a newly certified CNA in the process of looking for a job. I would like to know what is the going rate in the New Jersey area if anyone out their could help me with this ques.

this is my opinion im suggesting if you a new c.n.a,it would be wise to learn and have more experience in ltc and acute care. because one little slip up you could be fired and possible in up losing your c.n.a. protect your cna.
