i thought this would be a great place for us to ask each other questions and help each other out with concerns, school work etc... during the next year.

Hi everyone, I am a married 44 year old mother of 2 teen boys.

I was accepted to start LVN classes this Fall.

I am so excited and scared at the same time. :uhoh3:

I have to take CPR classes this summer and fill out more paperwork for my financial aid. :rolleyes:

I hope to be a pediatric nurse/school nurse.

To gain some experience I am volunteering at the children's hospital this summer. Hope to soak up alot of info. I will let you know what it's like to be there.

By the way when I received my assignment a couple of the other college volunteers thought I was an auxillary volunteer. :chuckle

I just smiled and told them I was a returning college student.

Do any of you plan to review for the fall?

What would be a good book to read before classes?

Hopefully, this summer will be productive.

I live in Missouri, am 28 years old, and mother to 5 kids, aged 11, 9, 7, 6, and 4. I am starting the LPN program on August 9th, after waiting my entire life to get on this track :) I wanted to raise my kids first before I started, so I got a headstart on having them. My goal is to one day be a Nurse Practicioner Midwife who takes care of and sees women and children. My brother is a Nurse Practicioner at Vanderbilt University specializing in AIDS research and runs an Aids clinic. Nursing has always been in my blood, and I am very excited to start. I have also worked as a volunteer EMT before I had my last son.

:balloons: Congratulations to everyone here on getting into school!! I am a 23 y/o, mother of two ages 2 1/2 and 10 months and am expecting another wonderful blessing in November. My program starts July 5 and I am so excited. I am currently finishing Medical Terminloogy and a Math class for dosage calculations and all of that. Like many of you it has been my dream to do this since childhood but I have done alot of other things since High School that had to take precedence!? Good to meet you all and I look forward to the next year or so with you. I t will be interesting balencing so much work with the rest of our lives I hope I can be a support to anyone who needs it!!

I am so excited for all of us who are starting this fall. I Start August 23rd. I am a 31 year old mother of three. Two boys, ages 6 and 10. One girl age 8. I also work part-time as an admitting clerk in the ER. I have wanted this so bad for a really long time. My dh and I have been married for 10 years and he is the best. I couldn't do this without him. We live in Michigan. He is planning on going back to school when I am done to be a paramedic.

Finally got my acceptance letter last week! :balloons: My orientation is June 14 and I cannot wait to get there. My best friend got in, too! I've been looking for all white athletic shoes but I've only found 2 pair and I didn't like them at all (comfort-wise).
