I do not - just wash out and let air dry then put away at the end of the day.
I've only had one parent ever ask me to soak the pieces in a vinegar/Water solution after using them - she supplied the little covered tupperware bowl and the vinegar to use - I didn't find it odd, working in home health this is what alot of parents do with reusable supplies.
I just had a new student transfer in who frequently needs neb treatments in the spring due to allergies (no inhaler, only neb). Mom has asked that I use their machine and send home the pieces to be properly cleaned each week because their previous school nurse never cleaned the supplies.I'll be honest here, I wash out a students neb equipment after they use it and ensure that it dries before putting it away, but I never have done more than that for any of my asthma supplies.
Do you guys disinfect all your asthma supplies on a regular basis?
No, all I have ever done is wash the mouth piece with warm soap and water, rinse the rest with water and air dry.
