Just thought I would get a forum started as we await the decision. Everyone feel free to post your overall GPA, math and Science GPA, and TEAS scores. Also why you want to be a nurse and what specialty you would like to work in?
Overall GPA 3.38
M&S GPA 3.4
TEAS 80.7
I originally wanted to be an OB/GYN, but then I got pregnant and decided I would just become an account (math is my favorite subject). After my stay in the hospital (labor/delivery & postpartum) I decided I can still be in the hospital setting if I become a nurse. I want to be an OB/GYN nurse.:heartbeat I eventually want to become a certified nurse midwife.
Please weigh in Clayton State Applicants!
I would like to congratulate all the students who were accepted into the Fall's class! I would also like to encourage the ones who did not get accepted to keep trying. I know several nurses and they all have different stories about trying to get into nursing school, trying to get through nursing school, trying to pass the NCLEX, getting that first job, etc. Although they have different stories and took different paths, they are RN's. You are probably just as bright and worthy as most of the applicants who did get accepted....who knows, a grade here, a test there, could be the only difference. As an older student, I have have my share of ups and downs....you just simply have to keep a positive attitude and keep going.
Now, I have a question. I have to take micro and patho this summer. Mrs. Hicks is recommending that I take Interactive Communications this summer as well....seems like a LOAD to me. For the ones who have taken inter. com., how much will this class add to my micro and patho load....is this class offered on line somewhere?..THANKS
Patho/Micro is a load on its own. I would not recommend it at all, but each person is different. Do you work?
If you dont work then you can probably do it. Patho is a lot of studying and so is Micro/plus the lab. Interactive communications takes a lot of efford to get a A. It is not an easy elective. I took it last fall with an online class and spent alot of time studying and reading, plus a few papers and group video project. It will sure lighten your load while in nursing school to get rid of that elective.
