:crying2: Yesterday, I asked a classmate to help me out during our clinicals. I needed help turning a patient because he could not move at all in bed. Then the next thing I know, my classmate turned me in saying to the instructor that I did not know what I was doing.
:crying2:
:crying2: I know what I was doing, I just needed help on positioning a patient. It is my first semester and I am learning. If I knew she was going to do that, I would not asked her for help. I thought I could trust her. I did not know that I was going to get told on.
:crying2:
:crying2: Then the instructor acted really mean to me and said that I did not know what I was doing and was put on probation.
:crying2:
Why do classmates do this? Don't classmates suppose to help each other out or is it all back stabbing and war going on. Why did she do it? The patient was not in danger...Just to warn you, there are a lot of evil people out in the world, who would just back stab a person to get ahead. I do not know what her intentions were, but she was out to get me...
:crying2:
:crying2: :crying2:Anyway, I dared not to confront her, because she would tell on me again for asking the question, then I would be out of the nursing program for sure..People are so cruel...I do not trust any of my classmates now, they will tell on a student...
:crying2:
Put in a formal complaint in writing, give the facts, give it to the Nursing Department head. I would not put up with that. stay clear of that classmate, what a witch.

:crying2: It is too late, the department head was the instructor who put me on probation...Just last week, the same instructor told me that I was doing very well at the clinical site...Just to tell you, how a classmate can destroy someone...I thought the classmate would help me because I asked her questions before.....
:crying2:
:crying2:
I would still explain myself in writing and ask how you can be put on probation based on another student's word. Is there a dean of healthcare education at your school? Keep on going up. This sounds very wrong indeed.
I'm so sorry you are in the position of not being able to utilize your peers as team members on the floor. That is ridiculous. Everyone should work together, support and trust each other.
I feel very fortunate to have such a great group of peers in my clinical rotation. I hope your experience is a one-time only event. Keep your chin up.

There is more to the story. I was told in the morning the RNs with the licences would handle the dressing changes. When I turned the patient, there was a little blood on a patch where a wound was. The dressing changes suppose to be handled by the RNs and not the students. So I looked at it and I did not report it to anyone because it was a wound with a patch on it.
:crying2:
:crying2: .The next thing I know that classmate said a lot to the instructor about the wound and how I did not report it..I explained it to the instructor but me and him, have personailty differences. I am there just to do the job, and me liking him, was an issue about the probation also...
:crying2:
I just know, that I got told on by a girl who has a big tatoo on her back..
:crying2:

You lost me with this part.
You liking him?
And what does a tattoo on a person have to do with anything?

Well, lets say that he gets the impression that I do not like him. He might be right. My train of thought is that, he is the instructor and I am there to get a grade and proceed on and liking him should not be an issue on who passes or not.
The tatoo, conveys a person who is not conservative. People say to trust people who look conservative. Maybe that is true. I just trust people too much. I might not make it through the program. It is so sad. I did my best under the circumstances and a classmate just ruined it. If the classmate did not tell on me, I would be okay. I hope I make it. My focus is really shotnow. There is a test on Monday, and I might be wasting my time studying.. :crying2:

I think we are just trying to clarify, reasonably someone would not be put on probation unless there is even more to the story that you did not disclose. Apparently you may have probs since you judge ppl on their appearance. Having my tongue pierced and a tatto on my arm that no one sees does not make me any less of a nurse.
That's one of the most judgmental statements I've seen on this site so far.
Right now, I DO NOT trust ANY of my classmates...They could look conservative or non conservative..I do NOT trust any of them..................It is a very COLD world................I think we are just trying to clarify, reasonably someone would not be put on probation unless there is even more to the story that you did not disclose.
