  1. My best friend's mother in law always said do not put me on a vent for any reason or I will haunt you. She had an MI and her husband let them put her on a vent until all of the family could arrive. With everyone in the room the husband pulled the plug. She continued to hang on down to the very minute the same amount of time she was on the vent.
  2. Google search for "nursing humor" to prepare for speaking to the freshmen.
  3. If you are talking about drug abuse it could be drug induced schizophrenia. Just a thought.

  5. Hahahahahaha
  6. personally I like it because it gives a way to try to rate something that is highly subjective. It gives a more tangible symptom to deal with and shows that relief measures have worked.
  7. christmas has been cancelled this year... i told santa that i had been good this year and... he died from laughter :rotfl:
  8. bruits are best heard with the bell of a steth and are described as a whooshing sound. Thrill I am not as sure on but think it is more of a friction sound but like i said not real sure. Hit the books though especially health assessment or at least Taber's. Hope this helps.
  9. I am assuming they are cumulative...just hit the highlights and get some rest. I just finished finals...and if you don't know it by now then it might be too late. Good luck!!!!
  10. My original major was elementary PE teacher but then I had a pivotal moment where I decided to become a nurse and it just feels right. IMO you just have to put your heart into it to be happy and nu8rsing may not be where your heart is. Just decide what is your ultimate goal and is nursing a pit stop on the way or totally off base. I personally know that I will get my master's but my hubby wants to just stay a RN. So just do some soul searching and it will come. Good luck sorry I can't be more help.
  11. Here is what I wasn't taught... 1.A person can go from talking to dead in 2.2 seconds. 2.Vomit travels faster than the speed of light. 3.A great procedure that the nurses offer at the end of a shift means someone will be cleaning poop! 4.Anyone over the age of 45 is obsessed with their bowel movements. 5.Any situation can become gross quick! 6.Urine comes in every color of the rainbow do not be alarmed. 7.Never ever call the doc at night when your patient gets a fever of 101. 8.Kids can stick anything...I mean anything in their noses. 9. Babies can have projectile poop. 10.You would be amazed how many objects have been accidently inserted into the rectum. I think this may be more what you are looking for!!!! These came off the top of my head I will let you know if I can think of more!!!
  12. Yep and it would be cheap too!!
  13. Look for some of the Top ten reasons I became a nurse sayings. We are coming up with a new shirt and that was my idea or something like those credit card commercials like books300$ scrubs ?$ .....having a patient that doesn't beat you up...priceless or something like that Good LUCK:balloons:
