I finally got THE letter!! The school was taking its time but finally they decided to start accepting and I was one of them. I had about decided to just take some more courses next fall and apply to another school. Was not looking forward to trying to get my transcripts again. Now I have a bunch of new things to worry about...Hep B shots, titers, PPds, uniforms, books... scary stuff!! :uhoh21: Well, anyway, I'm excited and my family is in for a shock when I quit waiting on them!! Can't wait!! Mary

Hey yall!
Just wondering if there are any of us out there still working on pre-reqs - hopeful nursing graduates of 2006?
Roll call! :)
I'm the 26yo mama of two boys (5yrs and 18mos). I work FT right now and am taking my pre-reqs at night. Hoping to get into a BSN program and start my nursing core/clinicals in fall 2004!

I'll know in June whether I'm accepted to my ADN program... I do plan to get a BSN, I've already accepted at this point that I'm a "lifer" when it comes to school. (I *was* getting a degree in fine art but had a change of heart- any other art school drop-outs here?)

My pre-reqs are done. :) I'm kind of wishing now I'd applied to more schools, but I had my heart set on one school. There was one more pre-req for the 2 other schools I had in mind so I would have had to wait a year, anyway.

I'm 26, married for 7 years this month, and have a little boy (6)...

Good luck to everyone waiting on their acceptance letter! I'm a bundle of nerves waiting... what a drag...

Wow! I cannot believe that these schools wait until so late to let you know! I found out two weeks after I applied, back in March, and we already had our orientation last week. Weird how it's so different everywhere. You would think the schools would want to prepare ASAP. Good luck to all still waiting!

Yes - General Chem, I was taking it entirely online! Turns out, I did better than I ever dreamed - Once the prof finally graded all my labs today, final grade- a B! :)

I had a similar chemistry experience this year... I went into that class expecting an A at the end, by mid-semester I was sweating a C... By final exam time I felt sick about it and was absolutely sure I wasn't going to get even a C. (The final exam was "cumulative" and covered 15 chapters- the prof refused to give hints about what would be on the exam, so studying was just cramming as much chem info that I could fit :chuckle ) I needed a C in chemistry or else my application to nursing school wouldn't even be admissable... so I had that great "my whole life is riding on this" feeling... :uhoh21:

I got my grades online a week ago and my grade was an A-!!!! That must have been one heck of a curve! (a curve was mentioned but the prof would never define what he meant by that... 90% of the class was expecting a D so I should have known it would be a pretty steep curve...)

I want orientation, too, and to buy my books and meet my classmates, waah... assuming I even get in. :uhoh21:

It makes planning for the summer and next year veeery hard, I should check out some CNA schools in the interim... just in case...

Or see if you have a local LPN school...that's what I did, but had already been accepted to my CC so didn't apply. There are always options!!! Good luck!

Congrats, UGAmom! I bet you must be relieved, the waiting is awful! :)

LittleCat - I can't believe they don't let you know until June! Some of the ADN programs here are like that, and I can't even imagine having to scramble to get everything done in that short of a time period. Our nursing classes begin in July, but maybe yall's begin later (since the hotify deadline is so late)? Where are you from?

I always said I'd love to be an art major... if only I had any talent! :)

I wish our Chem had had a curve (I was hoping for one the whole semester)! :chuckle

Kim - When do your classes begin? How was orientation? Our orientation isn't until July 6th, but we have a "Welcome Tea' on May 21st. Can't wait to go to that. :)

When do your nursing classes begin and how many students are there in your entering class?

Thanks, Manna...now the mailman no longer thinks "there she is , waiting for me again!" I have a bunch of stuff to take care of. My classes start Aug. 23. Orientation is Aug 5 & 6. There are 100 seats at one campus and 72 at the other.

I have a question..how far apart are the Hep B shots? I have an appointment June 28 with my doctor for the physical part, and it occures to me that I might need to start the shots sooner than that. Oh so looking forward to getting my arms shot full of holes! The last shot I got was a cortison shot when I had pneumonia. I was fairly certain my arm was going to fall off onto the floor it hurt so badly!! And I also have to get my CPR certification..just thought of that..and I have to order my uniforms...and I have to get my books... (is there an icon for a terrified scream?) . Right now I have to study for my A&P II final on Wednesday!
