Class of 2006

Nursing Students General Students

Hey yall!

Just wondering if there are any of us out there still working on pre-reqs - hopeful nursing graduates of 2006?

Roll call! :)

I'm the 26yo mama of two boys (5yrs and 18mos). I work FT right now and am taking my pre-reqs at night. Hoping to get into a BSN program and start my nursing core/clinicals in fall 2004!

Doesn't look like I'm going to be class of 2006 after all - I got into the nursing program, got the scholarship, but I don't think I'm going to pass this darn online chemistry course. How depressing is that? :o

Hang in there Manna. Are there tutors at your school that could help you? What stuff are you having trouble with? Chem's tough...it takes a lot of work, at least it did for me.

Thanks.... There's not really anywhere I can go for help. I'm taking the class online (I'm not an on-campus student at my college, and this instructor is with a different school entirely), so it's sort of a "do or die" learning system. So far I've been doing terribly, but I'm really hoping and praying very hard that I can pull my grade up to at least a C by the end of the semester (April 21st). :o

dont give up yet!

You might ask around the local college or high school & try to see if a student or instructor might be willing to tutor you. It'll cost you a few $$ (cheaper if it's a student, usually), but it may help. And don't forget about the good folks here...we can try to help you out too.

You can do it! :)

I got an A in chemistry last semester. Pm me if you'd like, maybe I can help??

Sometimes having things explained outside of the book can make things click. I have faith in you, you can do it!! :)

*bump*

I'm still here fighting tooth and nail to get pass Chem. I'm feeling fairly confident, if I do well on the final, that I'll at least pass. But it's a big wooly comprehensive bugger, so I'm nervous about that. Nevermind what a C will do to my GPA, I just want to pass. Waah!

How is everyone else out there doing? I have my last final on April 21, and I'm looking forward to a little break before nursing classes (hopefully) start in July!

manna, you got in to the nursing program, you can ease up on your GPA for a bit! :) Study hard for your final, take the C and RUN! and if you need help studying, don't ask me! I haven't taken chem since high school! :chuckle

A

Yeah, Manna...hang in there...I'm sure you'll do fine. :)

I guess since I'm am now "officially" accepted, I'll come out of lurkdom and introduce myself. I'm Susan, 35 yo wife and mom of a 6yo dd and a 10yo ds. I'll be starting the BSN program at TWU-Dallas in the fall if all goes well in these last two prereqs. Manna, I feel your pain with chemistry. I never thought my ambition would be to get a C in anything...my perspective has changed!

Hi Everyone,

I am going to be starting some sort of nursing program in the near future, but am still working on my prereq's. I am 27, married (just 5 months ago!) and have no children yet. :) I am hoping to get into a Masters Entry Program in Nursing, but if not accepted will look into the traditional BSN program.

Thanks Angela, Amy.... I've been telling folks that when and if I pass this semester, I'm throwing a huge party - and everyone is invited! :D

Welcome Su and Hope!

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling less than motivated and not exactly loving Chem. This class has just sucked most all of that "little engine that could" tenacity out of me. I'll be pleased as punch if I never have to look at another Chem book the rest of my life. (although I don't know that I'd mind orgo so much) :chuckle
