Nursing Students General Students

Hey yall!

Just wondering if there are any of us out there still working on pre-reqs - hopeful nursing graduates of 2006?

Roll call! :)

I'm the 26yo mama of two boys (5yrs and 18mos). I work FT right now and am taking my pre-reqs at night. Hoping to get into a BSN program and start my nursing core/clinicals in fall 2004!

Congratulations TaraSC!!!

:balloons:

Congrats Tara, great news! I'm very impatiently waiting... but wish me luck, I'm applying for several scholarships and I go to interview for one on Feb 21st (I'm uncertain as to whether I'm going to be able to afford school this fall, so a scholarship would SURE help!) :)

my entrance exam is march 2nd now.

I did get accepted to a loca university Northern IL U

Hey, that's my birthday! So, good luck! :)

Congrats on the acceptance... are you taking the entrance exam as a condition for enrolling in that school, or are you applying somewhere else also?

Hey Rocky Mountain EMT,

Boy, that's a long time to wait for school! I am doing my Associates first also, then I'll just go right into the BS online. Why wait twice as long to make the same amount and build experience??

(You probably already know this) CU Denver has a completely online RN to BSN program, and you can pretty much tailor it to your needs as far as completion time. Buena Suerte! SG

The NLN entrance exam is for the school im currently attending. The have limited admission to their nursing program.

NIU is where I will get the RN to BSN. I plan to try to take some courses ahead of time to expidite the process

Oh great, well good luck on the exam then. I'm sure you'll do great. I get test anxiety something awful, so I'm glad that the school I'm applying to doesn't use an exam as part of the admissions process. :)

Rocky - WOW! Those waitlists are unreal! How long have you been on the waitlist (or are you just now applying)?

Yep, that's me too -- I'm starting my bachelor of Nursing on Feb 23. Maybe we need an online study group? From the sound of all these threads, we'll be needing all the study-buddies we can get! lol

Sorry to hear that Dublin, what a bummer! :o

Is there another school in your area that you could apply to as well?

I'm starting to get nervous waiting on acceptance letters here. Turns out they're going to be mailed later than expected, somewhere around mid-March. I want to know now! *whine* :D

Yeah, I could apply to other schools, but it's the same wait or longer, and they have different pre-reqs so I'd have to spend more time taking their special requirements FIRST! CRAP!

Well good luck to you getting that letter soon! Heather

Anybody that's a praying/positive thoughts type of person, I'd appreciate your thoughts this Saturday.... I'm going to a scholars day to interview for a scholarship that could make or break my ability to go to nursing school this fall.......... needless to say, I'm VERY nervous!

Consider it done, Manna. Good luck!

Well, it looks like I'm NOT going to be in the class of '06. More like '07...if I'm lucky. :( I most likely won't get into the program until next January or next April. Yippie. I only have 3 more non-nursing classes left to take, but the wait list is that long. Grrr. :( But...I'll have to wait it out. I don't really have any options worth pursuing.

I'm guessing I'll end up graduating sometime in 2005 or 2006, depending on when I get into the program. Taking the pre-admission exam on Sept. 5th. Already have 2 quarters finished (and maintaining that 4.0 gpa so far! WOOHOO!). Taking A&P II and NA Training this fall, then I'll have communications, A&PIII, developmental psych, microbiology, general pharm...and then all I'll have left to take are the actual nursing courses. Hopefully I'll be able to start those next fall. If not...if the waiting list is longer than anticipated, I'll take a few more chem classes & a couple classes that will eventually transfer when I take the RN to BSN completer program somewhere after I get my ADN.

I'm 33 y/o, married. One 13-1/2 y/o daughter. Working full time. Already have a Bachelor Degree (in psych). When it's all said & done, I should have an ADN, BA, BSN and and MSN! So many letters... ;)

So.... I'm not the only one with a BA in Psych going back for an RN.....Its nice to know your not alone :) . I am finishing up my prereqs this summer and will be trying to get into the BSN program at the University of Utah. I say would like because competition is fierce....usually they get 300 apllicants of which they take 50.......my only other alternative is to be waitlisted for the RN program at Salt Lake Community College.....which unfortunately has a year long wait list at this time......either way I am doing it...Hopefully I will be in the class of 2006 !!!!
