Class of 2006

Hey everybody Mine is at that stage where I have to brush her teeth EVERY morning. I try not to miss a day because I don't want her to get out of the routine. GUESS WHAT?????????? I just potty trained her this week and she is really good. She doesn't even wet the bed at night.

Manna, I will definitely keep you in my prayers as far as the separation and the financial help you'll need but, I would like for you to remember that you are not alone. There are many of us who are single parents and we have to keep on truckin' now more than ever before. Please pray for me also because I am a little afraid of the stress of nursing school. I start in the fall and sometimes I don't know if I will be able to handle it.

Well, I'm taking my son in to see a "regular" dentist on the 27th. I finally found a pedi dentist about 70 miles from here that will see him if we have a referral from another clinic first.

Wow, that is good JE. My older son kind of trained himself the summer before he turned three, and I'm not really in any rush with my toddler now either. I figure when he's ready, he'll get it, and it'll be lots easier on both of us! LOL

Thanks for the prayers... I'm not so stressed about the single parenting thing, as I am the being able to afford school thing. My big worry is that I'll get into the nursing program but have to decline my acceptance because I can't afford to quit my job (same thing happened to me with rad tech school last year).

Manna are you planning on day or night cliinicals?

Im staying working and doing clinicals at night.. it'll be like having two jobs for awhile but.. i think it'll pay off.

I'm a little concerned about how my wife is going to take to me being gone so much.. im afraid shes going to become rather non-supportive..

just like she was of the pre-med thing, which caused me to go in this direction.

I'll be doing the same thing...work during the day & do school & clinicals at night. It'll be a killer, but I'll do it. Luckily my husband is very supportive. He's even taken a second job to help pay for school, etc. God love him. :kiss

my BS is in dietetics I am a registered dietitian. I am mostly interested in the entry MSN progams because it takes only 1 1/2 yrs to be able to sit for the NCLEX. After that I plan to take 6mths to 1 yr off to get a better idea of what I want to focus my graduate studies in.

Anyone else out there applying to entry MSN programs would love to hear your thoughts

It is so great to hear of all the students who have children I have 2 also and have been worried about being a fulltime student & a fulltime mom to a 2 1/2 & 5 year olds.

Anxiously awaiting acceptance!

I find with support and love, anything is possible.

Problem is, often I feel I have neither. I will be fine but it will be incredibly hard.

You on the other hand will not have to work as hard. People do not realize how much power they hold to help others. Even a smile or simple kind gesture can make a world of difference in someone's daily life.

That's why I'm glad I at least have this place.

Day - the nearest program that offers night clinicals is about a 4 hour drive away.

My husband is not supportive at all - he wants me to move to the other side of the state with him and go to school over there (the program there is a year longer, plus I have 8 additional pre-reqs to take to apply there). He really wants me to go back to the pre-med thing, after hearing all the job offers my brother is getting LOL. I would too, if I didn't have any kids. :)

My family (parents & grandparents) are INCREDIBLY supportive. That's why I want to stay here and go to school. My father has pretty much told me that he'll give me some of my inheritance NOW so I can afford to go to school/not work. It'll still be tight, but doable.

I hope things work out with your wife and she gets behind you 100% - it's so important to have SOMEONE there for you, and goodness only knows that spouses SHOULD certainly be that most supportive person for each other... sad that it doesn't always work out that way.

How interesting! I just took my first nutrition course last semester and I thought it was incredibly interesting. :)

What a blessing! That's great that our husband is there for you, if only we were all so lucky (or picked our spouses so well, maybe? LOL

Sorry to hear it Agent, as so often is the case between me and you - I relate! Do you have any family nearby besides your wife? Are they supportive of your school-ambitions at all?

Well, I'm happy today! Other than it being FREEZING cold in my office (they took away our space heaters) and my youngest son getting vaccinations today, I just sold a ton of my old textbooks and DVDs on amazon. I managed to muster up enough spare change to order myself a nice used laptop and a Tungsten E. I'm so excited, and can't wait for them to get here.

I'm kind of a tech nerdl, I guess - my husband has his expensive guitars/amps/music stuff, so I figure I should get to have my fun too! LOL :)
