2015-2016 Clackamas CC AAS Nursing

Hello Previous and Current Applicants-

Does anyone know when Clackamas typically sends their notification email for the applicant interview?

I just received an email of acceptance! I was on the wait list previously, so excited to meet everyone at the mandatory meeting!

Congratulations!! :D

Here's the Facebook group, everyone!

Look for: Clackamas Community College Nursing - Class of 2017

I also got an email yesterday saying I was accepted off the waitlist! Woo!!

Hi everyone. What were your thoughts on the orientation at CCC today?

Honestly, I'm not sure, I haven't had a chance to go over the flash drive yet, and it seems that's where I'll have all my questions answered. I did apply to Clackamas to get my email, but it said I had to wait 2-3 days. Is that how we are supposed to do it? For some reason I am having a hard time understanding that part! How do you feel it went?

I'm so excited and so scared! I can only imagine how I'm going to feel when September rolls around!

I haven't looked over the flash drive yet either, and maybe that's where I'll find what I'm after too. When I went to Mt.Hood's interview they made a really big deal over when you could get your CPR certification--it couldn't be too early in the summer because they didn't want it to lapse during the program. I wonder if CCC feels the same way. I'm also curious about health insurance since I'm quitting my job this fall, but I suppose I'll just go through the marketplace.

Camerobe, that's how I did it!

Ok that is good to know! Thank you, I'll just have to wait a couple days to get into my Clackamas account. As far as CPR if you take it anytime during the summer you should be fine, the certification is good for two years so you would just need to renew before starting OHSU.

Hey.. have any of you received any form of communication with instructions on how to complete and where to upload the results to meet the nursing requirements; like the immunizations and physicals and all that? I was sure in orientation they said they'd email us and its now been over a month....

Nope, nothing yet!

I am so worried about applying. I will have all my pre-reqs done and only 1 B in Writing 121. I work in medical field and currently volunteering at a homeless shelter. My biggest fear is the interview and the essay. Those of you who applied can you please share your experience. I hear that even student with perfect requirements dont get in, it doesnt make sense to me, unless they fails the essay part.

Thank you

And Congratulations to all of you who got accepted!!!

My advice is just to prepare as well as you can in advance. I made a list of dozens of potential questions and wrote out responses to each of them. Even though some of the questions I was asked at the real interviews weren't from my list, I could still structure my responses to include key points I wanted to make. Prepare for obvious questions, questions that aren't explicitly about nursing, and situational questions. Familiarize yourself with OCNE core competencies and that'll take you a long way. I also recommend asking someone to do a practice interview for you. I found that these preparations generally helped with both the interviews and the essays.

It sounds like you're off to a great start and it's nice that you're thinking ahead! Best of luck to you! :)

Any of you received any instructions on how to proceed in regards to any instructions about the certified profile code or is everyone still waiting for the email from the staff? Have any of you started doing the TB testing, immunizations, physical assessment... or are you still waiting for them?
