Hello Previous and Current Applicants-

Does anyone know when Clackamas typically sends their notification email for the applicant interview?

Did they say why they cut the cohort down to only 18-24 students this year?

She said it had to do with faculty numbers and maybe something to do with clinical sites, I can't remember exactly.

Hey all,

I just had an interview at Clackamas on the 15th at 12:15, I think it went well I just can't believe they cut the cohort in half! How does everyone else feel about their potential acceptance?

Before the interview I had 57 points and a 4.0, still completely nervous! It's going to be long week or two of waiting!

Good luck to everyone!

Hey all,

I had 54 points and a 4.0. I felt like the oral part of my interview went really well! The written was so so. It was a tough topic to write on in only 30 minutes!

Just wanted to check in and let everyone know I got my decision email from Clackamas today, and I am on the waitlist of 15 people. Sure wish I knew what number! Would love to hear how everyone else did too!

I got my email at 11:30am! I was offered a spot at Clackamas! Good luck on the waitlist of 15 people. I think those 15 still have a good chance of getting in!

I'm on the 15 people wait list! It's so unnerving not knowing whether you're #1 or #15 ugh!!!

They don't tell you where you are on the waitlist? Can I just say how much I despise the elusive nature of applying to nursing school and waiting on feedback? I've self-medicated with a weekly video game binge.

I expected to be declined admission altogether, but was admitted.

For anyone who is curious or for future applicants, this is my personal snapshot from my score sheet and interview experience:

Scoresheet Point Breakdown

GPA: 4.0 (40 points)

All A & P completed?: Yes (5 points)

All prerequisite coursework completed?: Yes (5 points)

Prior degree: BS--- Majors: health science; social science/Minor: community health (1 point)

Discretionary Points: Completion of microbiology (3 points)

Point total: 54

Interview Impression/Experience

I went into the interview convinced I didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting accepted for personal reasons, as well as a lack of discretionary points. Obviously I can't discuss the questions, but I can say that I'm not someone who relies solely on answers that would be considered safe. This is not to say that I'm uncouth or unprofessional. Additionally, I have the tendency to introduce humor (frequently at my own expense) at times where a situation becomes tense or stagnant.

Congratulations to all who were accepted into the fun-size 2017 cohort.

Congratulations on your admission! I will see you all at the orientation on the 29th and hopefully by then we will have an official acceptance, in the mean time though I guess we will just sit and wait! I wonder if they decided on 18 or 24 students this year.

Good luck to the rest that are also on the wait list!

Just out of curiosity can anyone post what the email said for those of you who either got waitlisted or accepted... minus all the instructions. thanks.

Here's the wait list email!

I would like to know for those that were accepted what the deadline they gave you to send in your intent to attend?

Thank you for your interest in the Nursing program at Clackamas Community College. At this time we are unable to offer you admission to the 2015-2016 Associate of Applied Science Nursing program.

However, your name has been put on an alternate list and it is possible that you may be offered admission at a later time if space becomes available. Because of this possibility the Nursing department would like you to attend the mandatory orientation meeting on May 29, 2015 at the Harmony campus (7738 SW Harmony Road in Milwaukie), in room H230, 2:00pm to 4:00pm. You will be notified by email if your name comes up for admission to the program. Because lives are uncertain, it is not possible to predict if or when you may be contacted to fill a vacant space. Due to this fact, I regret that I cannot accept inquiries regarding your place on the list or your chances of being offered a position. All admissions decisions will be final for the Nursing 2015-2016 cohort on October 9, 2015.

Best wishes with your continued education.

Sincerely,

Allied Health Admissions
