City Tech Spring 2021

Published

Hey all aspiring future RN's ! I'm transferring to City tech in fall 2020. Then I plan on applying to City Tech Spring 2021 RN program. I just need to take one more class MAT 1190. Does anyone else plan on applying? Current students in the RN program do you have any advice?

Yeah I’m not in the program yet either, but registered for eng comp II and child psychology. And then I’m going to take nur 1010 and 1030 as well :))

For those of u already in the program, how r first semester nursing classes like? Difficult? A lot of reading? Because I am debating whether I should take Microbiology this semester or next. I’m asking about nur 1010 and nur 1030

It’s honestly not hard material. Nur 1010 I never studied for because I was good at math and got a 100 on all 4 exams but then again it’s only worth 1 credit. Nur 1030 is also not hard because it’s only basics but it is a lot of reading and there’s a lot of assignments due on prepu as well as lab assignments. I would suggest taking those co requisites this semester because next will be med surg and that’s one, if not the hardest nursing course in the entire program.

Also, it’s important to keep in mind that only for the first semester you will get study guides which make it a lot easier for you. Afterwards though, you won’t get any review sheets or anything is what I was told. If you do at least 40 hours of studying weekly you’ll be good to go which is also what I was told. Anyways Goodluck to you guys and if you have any other questions I’d be glad to help

40 hours studying!!

thanks for the info. They still haven’t put up the schedule of classes for nursing.  Can’t register for any courses without the schedule at least. Any word on what they will be doing for clinicals? In person? Online?  We r just a few weeks ago from the start of the semester

During the first semester, you usually have to submit all of the documents that you need for clinicals for the first 6 weeks. You start clinicals the 6th week once the semester has started but we didn’t have any clinicals. Everything was virtual. So for this second semester, we were given a waiver to sign which puts all responsibility on us to attend clinicals. I’m assuming that you might not have clinicals because you’re a first semester nursing student. I know that 3rd and 4th semester students do have clinicals because they’re closer to graduation

If you don’t mind me asking do the professors record lectures so that we can go over them later on. Also do we have to turn on cameras. Because then that would mean I would need a stronger Internet connection.

Yeah she did record lectures. I turned on my camera once but that was for a lab assignment that we had to do. Other than that, you don’t need to turn on your camera for lectures

Does anyone know if I take 9 credits this Spring semester, I will be part time.  But if I also take a 4 credit course for the Summer, would that then make me full time for financial aid purposes?

that is something I am considering too, what classes are you taking ? and I have to speak to a financial aid staff about this still

Btw, For the Spring 2020 nursing, they received the acceptance emails on Thursday, January 9. Just checked on this site. Also a lot of ppl were calling the office to inquire about when they will send out the letters last year. So hopefully we get them soon.  Fingers crossed before the weekend.
