Med calc is really easy but if it isn’t for you then I’d say to do a lot of dimensional analysis problems as well as knowing your conversions. For 1030, I’d study 40 hours weekly in order to retain the information at the end of the semester when you take your cumulative exam. Just read and also read the powerpoints and take notes tbh. I’m currently a second semester student but I just ordered my uniform LOL. I didn’t have clinicals last semester but this semester I most likely will, twice weekly.

If you email them they don’t tell you what the cutoff was LOL. But during orientation professor (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) said that it was about a 3.4-3.5. I applied with a 3.6 and a 75 on the TEAS

Those prerequisite courses you took at the other university would still count. I also transferred and my overall GPA reset to a 4.0.

Another thing to consider guys is that the pool of applicants varies per semester. Regardless of school and degree the GPA needed to enter will always change but as what I was told, here at citytech the cutoff GPA is usually a 3.4-3.5 but it can be lower. Meaning that students with a 3.0 can also be accepted if there aren’t many applicants or if the majority of applicants don’t have a high enough GPA.

They don’t consider your overall GPA only your prerequisite GPA which is a&p1, math, psychology, and English. You have the option to swap grades though and you could choose which math you want to be counted. Assuming you applied already, you should’ve put your highest grade and swapped the highest grade. LOL you have a really good chance with a 3.4 as well. Yes people did get accepted with a 3.4 so it’s very possible but that’s closer to the cutoff which is why I didn’t mention it but anything above a 3.5 is almost a guaranteed entrance as long as you pass the TEAS.

Hey guys just giving my 2 cents here but if your GPA is a 3.5 and you passed the TEAS regardless of your score, I’d say you have about a 99% chance of acceptance.

Yeah she did record lectures. I turned on my camera once but that was for a lab assignment that we had to do. Other than that, you don’t need to turn on your camera for lectures

During the first semester, you usually have to submit all of the documents that you need for clinicals for the first 6 weeks. You start clinicals the 6th week once the semester has started but we didn’t have any clinicals. Everything was virtual. So for this second semester, we were given a waiver to sign which puts all responsibility on us to attend clinicals. I’m assuming that you might not have clinicals because you’re a first semester nursing student. I know that 3rd and 4th semester students do have clinicals because they’re closer to graduation

Also, it’s important to keep in mind that only for the first semester you will get study guides which make it a lot easier for you. Afterwards though, you won’t get any review sheets or anything is what I was told. If you do at least 40 hours of studying weekly you’ll be good to go which is also what I was told. It’s honestly not hard material. Nur 1010 I never studied for because I was good at math and got a 100 on all 4 exams but then again it’s only worth 1 credit. Nur 1030 is also not hard because it’s only basics but it is a lot of reading and there’s a lot of assignments due on prepu as well as lab assignments. I would suggest taking those co requisites this semester because next will be med surg and that’s one, if not the hardest nursing course in the entire program.
