Based off what I've seen, experienced, and the experience of others, this program has ALWAYS been a mess and will continue be so until they start cleaning house and hold there faculty accountable. I always say to others, if you have the opportunity and the grades to get into another program, DO SO. I will say though, they have a FEW incredible faculty there that genuinely care abd want to see you succeed, but a vast majority just see this as a job and a check at the end of the week and it shows in the way they teach and conduct themselves by doing the very bare minimum.

Agreed with @nicole0216, nobody seems to know what the hell is going on and we're just left to figure it all out. Clinicals are the WORST

For the past two semesters, I know the cut off has been between 3.53-3.54. First time I applied I had a 3.46 and did not meet the cut (that was for Spring 2020). I took math 1275 earned an A and my GPA jump to a 3.57, I was in for fall 2020. I would say if you have atleast a 3.55 or up your safe, but with everything being online who knows.

Yes that is correct. For the math other than 1275 I would tell them which math I wanted to to use. I had taken math 1190 and 1275 and I specified that I wanted math 1275 used.

Hey @D W, while I believe you meet the minimum TEAS requirement, your pre req GPA is quite low for the program. I had to apply twice and swap out a math class for an upper level one to be accepted on my second attempt and my GPA was a 3.46 the first time. If you can, try swapping out one of the classes for an upper level course or retake a class. Never the less, put in your application you never know. They're fully online as of right now. For next term, we aren't sure yet. I still believe for the most part it will remain online. Maybe a select few clinical groups will be granted in person clincal access in the hosipital. My preceptor for my group said at her hospital they're only allowing third and fourth semester students in; those that are about to graduate or close to.

@Farhan3g I see what you're saying now, I would email the nursing dept and explain the situation. In that case, it may count as your overall, but like I said email the department and see what they say. I believe his name is (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME), he's the person who you would want to speak to.

Hey there, I believe you can use a TEAS scores from a different school as long as its within a year. You shouldn't be charged a fee because city tech doesn't accept your transcript directly from ATI. You have to manually print out your transcript yourself and send it over to the nursing department therefore not owing a fee. Regarding the twice overall thing, I'm not too sure how that works, but what I do now is when you go to download your individual performance Transcript report it does tell you on the upper left side how many attempts you've taken for the exam. I would email the nursing department and ask them about their policy in regards to that. hope this helps!

Hey @Lauraxoxo, Your GPA is good, but as I said before, the GPA changes every semester. I'm just going based on the past few semesters in terms of the cut-off mark. My TEAS score was around 72, however, as long as you meet the minimum passing score, the department doesn't really care what score you've earned. Your TEAS score only comes into play if for example the cut-off mark is 3.5 and there are 6 students with the same GPA with only 4 seats left then the dept would base it off your TEAS score to fill up those 4 seats remaining. Personally for me, the reading and the math where both my strong subjects so I just concentrated on those. I also tell people to really focus on both reading and math as they are the easier sections on the exam. Hope this helps!

@DreamCatcher215 Thank you so much! I do not wanna discrouge you or anyone from applying regardless of their GPA because you never know. They do have somewhat of a "wait list", but you wouldn't know until someone Eithers rejects their seat or doesn't respond back to the acceptance email by the date that's listed. They only look if you have an overall cumulative average (a calculation of all the classes you've taken) of 2.5 or higher, the determining factor is your 4 pre req classes and the passing score for the TEAS. What they probably mean by the biology part is that Bio 1101 is a pre req for A&P1, meaning you have to take and pass Bio 1101 before you can take A&P. The four pre reqs are: English 1 Child Psychology Math 1190 or higher Anatomy & Physiology ( Bio 2311) You can also swap out ONE pre req class for a higher grade earned from one of your pre req courses ( A&P 2 grade for A&P 1, Eng 2 grade for Eng 2, etc.) Hope this helps!

Hi all, I was accepted into the Fall 2020 class and currently enrolled. I always appreciated honesty when getting info about programs when I was applying, so I wanted to pay it forward. This was my second time applying to this program, I did apply for the Spring 2020 term, but I did not meet the cut-off mark. My pre-req GPA at the time was a 3.46 and the end mark was 3.53, I took Math 1275CO (applied my first time with Math 1190) and earned an A in the course which helped my GPA boot to at 3.57. With that being said, I would STRONGLY recommend you all to apply with at least a 3.55 or higher as for the past two semesters the cut-off mark has been between 3.53-3.54. One of the professors from the nursing dept said at one point they did go down to 3.30-3.40, but with each semester it seems to be getting increasingly competitive. I do not want to discourage you all, but I wanted to lay the facts out there and be completely transparent. However, DO NOT GIVE UP no matter how many times it may take you, believe me, I've been there so many times before, but if this is something you truly want to you'll find a way to figure it out whether it be here or at another program. I see, well than the only class besides Micro would be English 2. Financial aid won't pay for classes outside your degree/curriculum.

Hi there, you can only take two nursing per semester. I'm not sure if your planning on attending full-time, but if you are you'll want to take Nur 1010, Nur 1030, A&P 2, and Child Psychology. That's a total of 14 credits. Hope this helps!
